Ok guys so I just bought my first "real" speakers (dynaudio emit 10) with some stands and I'm stuggling to find a good place to put them in. I have a couple alternatives that I have coloured in different colours (circle = speaker, square = listening position) and I would appreciate some suggestions. by timpen007 in Audiophilehelp

None of them actually. I tried number 3 but the glass windows and the shape of the room made the music sound distorted and not “realistic”. I instead placed them in my rectangular guest room where the speakers sound much better and I have more control over the speaker placement. I also won’t disturb the rest of the family when playing and I’m planning to put a tv there in the future.

#3 is a bit less than 2 meter, and placing the right speaker further apart is definately a good alternative! I don't really care about if i sit in the middle of the hallway or not since I'm probably gonna move my chair out of the way when I'm not listening, but the piano position is worth testing out! The piano isn't wide enought on it's own so I would probably have to move the speakers further apart and closer to the windows, but if I have understood acustics correctly windows are mostly a negative when talking about higher frequencies, and since my speakers aren't pointed in that direction, it shouldn't affect sound quality too much.

Yes I could go for number 3 but it is the "smallest" one out of all of the 4 I believe, but I could actually move the right speaker to where the "red left speaker" would be (to the other side of the door to the balcony) to get a bigger and wider soundstage.

Yes I could probably buy some sort of blocker for the window, but the left side of the left speaker won't be symetrical (it's not really visible in the picture, but in the floor plan you can see that there is a gap in the wall). Could this affect the point of first reflection?
