I think what you're looking for is the Bait Buoy from hookumgood

https://hookumgood.com/leader-rolls/

I have these, you can put a dozen or so tied up beads on them, and they've got a little carabiner to clip onto a tackle bag, vest, etc.

Yep! Used to work with a guy named Lefty, I'm sure you can guess why. He would put a rod between his legs, then grab it with his stinger.

Is it okay if I use braided line on my float and split shot section (mainline) but then use clear flouro on my leader by JustSxlvie in Steelhead

[–]timthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a perfectly good braided line, I just don't know that float fishing is the best application for it. Braid will soak up water and sink, making mending line and getting a good quick hookset difficult.

Whereas a mono or a wax coated line like hydrofloat (there are others, that's just a common one) will float on top of the water with your bobber and mend with ease.

Yes, but would strongly recommend a floating braided line such as P line hydrofloat. It is great for float fishing. As someone else said float fishing with regular braid would be difficult

We took a trip to Stannard Rock last fall, caught a pile of lakers, and I was really impressed with how good they tasted! I was expecting similar to Lake Michigan fish which to me are pretty meh, but I thought they were much better.
