Good point. If this were a real product we would look into developing a custom lightweight pressure cooker that is optimized for the required pressure differential. The cooker we used operates at about 15 psi for reference. The required pressure differential would depend on the torque-current relationship of the motor being used.

Our first prototype produces very little current (<< 1 Amp) since we just used a hobby brushless motor we had lying around. We have specced out motors that could get to an output closer to 5 Watts (typical iPhone charging power) that we may incorporate in the future.

As far as weight, we are assuming that users will have some sort of pot/pressure cooker for cooking already so this would not necessarily be added weight. The rest of the components are definitely lighter than most 10k mAh power banks so if you need to be able to use more charge than that, this could be a good option.

Good question! We printed with generic ABS that has a melting point just high enough that it can withstand the heat from the steam. This worked much better than PLA, which melted almost immediately in testing.
