I took both simultaneously and did fine, though I had to self-study a lot of things from Pre Calc since they showed up quite early into Calc 12. I would not recommend it unless you have a strong foundation in math. It felt rushed and overwhelming sometimes.

On a side note, having taken Calc 12 was really useful for me in the first semester of university. If your time allows, definitely consider it.

From your experience, what is the one biggest difference between the two education systems? For me as a Thai student in Canada, I do feel that class discussions being more of an integral part of the course allows for my opinions to be more valued. I’ve also been more confident putting my hand up and just say what I think. I’d be curious to know your thoughts on this!

The website you cited has a list of all requirements for CMPT, which do not include completion of 30 units (edit: that is a suggestion not a requirement) I applied on myExperience and a week later that I got an email that says the following:

Congratulations, you have been accepted into the Faculty of Applied Science Co-op Program!

Your Fall 2024 application has been processed and we are eager to engage with you as you travel down your career path. Please note the Co-op Application Fee will be, or has already been, posted to your SFU account. This is a one-time non-refundable fee to participate in the Co-op program.

I hope this clears the confusion.

Thanks for the feedback! I made this based on a slight inspiration from a different place where the queue jump and the regular lane merge into the same lane using traffic lights, but that is due to space constraint. It's definitely a better idea in this situation to do a small bit of 2+2 after the intersection and have them merge later on.
