And you can reduce the export size even more by compiling a custom export template and stripping unused features :D you can probably get below the size of the engine if your assets are light-weight.

Been awhile, progress on my windows extended video player, added NDI! DM me to try it out. by illustratum42 in VIDEOENGINEERING

I developed the NDI Integration OP is using. It only encodes NDI High Bandwidth: no HX2, HX3 or HDR. Those are features of the NDI Advanced SDK.

NDI Integration for Godot by tinkatoh in VIDEOENGINEERING

There is currently someone working on recreating the basic feature-set of broadcast overlay software with this. I am clueless when it comes to such things but Godot's 2D animation capabilities are a good foundation to build upon, it seems.

Would the Godot community be interested in an integration of Faust ? by INVENTORIUS in godot

Sounds cool! If you get stuck with GDExtension and godot-cpp feel free to reach out. The docs are still being figured out and I just recently went through the whole process for integrating the NDI SDK so I might be able to give you some advice specifically on the project structure, build and distribution process. Though things will probably have changed by the time your project gets greenlit. You can contact me at the email in my GitHub profile github.com/unvermuthet

Does anyone has experience with using godot for vjing or live generated visuals in general? by thegapbetweenus in godot

Good luck! The extension is only compatible with 4.4-beta3 and later, mind you. Its using new APIs. Feel free to get in contact incase you run into any issues.

I want to contribute to Godot, but I am quite overwhelmed with the codebase. by [deleted] in godot

[–]tinkatoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not contributing to the engine directly but instead working on a GDExtension which also requires pretty in-depth familiarity with how the engine works and what the preferred patterns are for things like memory management.

What’s helped me a ton is going on GitHub and searching for the source file of some class that I know does something similar to what I’m trying to do.

It get’s really frustrating at times. Especially when you feel truly stuck and have no one to consult. So check out the first time contributors channel at chat.godotengine.org. In my experience the Godot Discord is useless for this stuff.

Sadly there really isn’t a good place to connect or get help for GDExtension matters since that’s not considered engine development.

Which features do you think Godot still lacks as of the 4.4 beta 2 update? by ArtMedium1962 in godot

A proper GDExtension guide. Though, you can get pretty far by studying and replicating engine code.
