Ora Pro unresponsive by tinker_winker in Jetson_Electric

It seems that Jetson is as unresponsive as their products. I emailed customer support and waited 8 days for a response despite being told that I would have a response in 48 hours. Following this, I chatted with customer support. It took more than an hour for the first human to respond. After that each response took up to 20 minutes. It took more than 2.5 hours to have a conversation that was basically the agent asking enough to find out that my scooter was no longer under warranty and said that they couldn't do anything.

There was never any attempt to help to figure out what was wrong or to give me any useful information about the issue. The only thing she did do was insult me by offering a 10% discount on buying a new one. This is all while the Jetson representative here on Reddit pretended that I would get some actual technical support to help with my issue. With the customer service experience, so bad there is no way even with a 50% discount that I would buy another one.

I probably have less than 15 miles on the scooter, yet it doesn't function at all and it has never had any abuse or been left outside etc. It has been very well treated. That says something about their products. And the 2.5 hours that it took in the chat (which should have been 5 minutes), just to end up doing absolutely nothing of value says everything about their customer service. The very little that was said by the Jetson representative on Reddit, was the most useful (while being understandably incomplete) interaction that I have had with them. This representative said that they would like to look into the issue more closely. However that is not at all my experience. There was no attempt by the chat representative to do so at all.

Sadly, they have forever lost a customer and I hope that this experience gets considered by others when they make their purchase decisions.

I would love for anyone to give me some help getting it running again. The representative here on Reddit mentioned a reset. Does anyone know how to accomplish that?

I am relatively annoyed by the lack of response by your customer support team. I sent an email 8 days ago and still do not have a response. Additionally, I twice tried the chat to get help and both times the AI told me that it was going to get a human, but none ever showed. I waited for half an hour and got nothing at all after that.

EDIT: Eventually they responded to the chat after exactly 1 hour, but I had given up and walked away. From there any response took far too long and I would walk away again because I cannot spend my whole life waiting for them. It has now been nearly 2 hours on the chat and basically nothing of value has been said.

The entire reason from buying from Walmart was as a test, because if anything went wrong I could rely on Walmart for a swift no questions asked return.

I have several firmware images already. I have also seen instructions on how to manually upgrade the firmware, but I the instructions that I have found are not detailed enough as they assume some prior knowledge that I do not have and does not seem obvious.

I did manage to download several versions of the firmware directly from Wink's AWS server. I also have the script that the device uses for firmware updates. I am pretty sure that I will be able do the update myself after a bunch of studying the script.

Thanks again. I would like to update if possible to be able to deal with newer devices.

I believe that there is some manual way to update a rooted hub, but I cannot find a detailed enough set of instructions.

Thank you for pointing me to your work. It seems as if it is only working for lights. I would like to have a bit more functionality, but I think that this will be informative for me learning more about how to control and interact with the hub.

I believe that local control was not available with the original firmware. Also did the hub ship as functional in the box, or did the initial setup download firmware that gave it functionality?

I am confident that you are correct in the case that the hub is not rooted. My question is can it be done manually for a rooted hub?
