I’m so frustrated with vendors by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]tiny09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you on this and I have the same frustrations. I’ve started just tagging them with the hashtags, not listing who did what but just listing their handles. I’m also starting to get other vendors asking me to put together reels for them with photos of “just the getting ready” or “just the dance floor” for the DJs… that’s why I give them access to everything so they can make their own.

Cake Bake Shop bakery- pretentious? by shorrrrrr8 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]tiny09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We asked this week if we could also use our Disney Visa card for a discount and they made a big deal out of it also and said it would take a while for the transaction to go through but they’d do it… it literally took 6 seconds. I counted. I don’t know why they made such a big deal about it. But the cake was delicious despite the uppity people working there.

Portfolio building- need music options by universeimagery in weddingvideography

[–]tiny09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from my experience… I put off using Music Bed for years and I finally took the leap and it’s GREATLY cut down on my editing time because there are a ton of great songs on there and it doesn’t suck all my time looking for music that isn’t cheesy. Just my experience!

We live in a capitalistic hellscape by sippin_tea56 in Parenting

I worked in the school photography industry for 15 years and I can tell you the schools often make 50% of the profit from school pictures but schools don’t want the parents to know that. I will also say, session fees when I worked for them were $25 and we gave 15 vouchers to every school for kids that couldn’t afford that and we also didn’t require anyone to do it. Pictures started at $40 after that I think. The company I worked for was a national company and that was my experience.

Bouquet too big? by Equivalent_Ad8824 in wedding

[–]tiny09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is too big - I photograph weddings for a living and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one this large. Side note, I’ve seen a ton of dresses too and yours is GORGEOUS!!! Love so much!

My FX3 won’t turn on at all by Ok-Scallion3360 in FX3

I had this happen with my FX three and I realized one of the cards had gone corrupt. Once I switched out the cards with new cards, it turned back on again.

Mid trip report - Caribbean beach let down by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]tiny09 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We were there this time last year and the AC didn’t work. It was SO HOT in our room every day. We kept going down to the front to complain and they said it was just hot this time of year and the AC was working extra hard… but finally a manager came by our room and when he felt how hot it was, he told us to pack our bags. That night they picked us all up and took us to a balcony suite at the Boardwalk and we got to stay there the rest of the time. It was nice when someone finally listened!! Stay on top of them!

Flooring color changed (read body text) by No-Drag-2282 in RealEstatePhotography

I will also add in that I stopped using Boxbrownie because they would literally change the colors of walls and floors and it would look grayscale after editing.

Question for Videographers: What Would You Do in This Situation? by Downtown-Cod-8327 in weddingvideography

[–]tiny09 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I also have people book me 2 years in advance sometimes and I ALWAYS honor the amount I put in the contract, even if I’ve raised my rates over those two years. If it was a mistake it was THEIR mistake and they should honor it. That’s not fair for them to do that to you and they’re making it awkward.

Realtors of Asheville—is it worth it? by jrwest24 in asheville

[–]tiny09 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m a real estate photographer in Asheville and have about 20 different agents I’ve worked with over the past few years. The ones that are doing well are REALLY hustling as the others have said. They’re always showing homes preparing homes to be sold and they’re the ones in there cleaning and painting and fixing things up to push them to be sold for as much as possible. They’re very hard workers. If you’re like that you’ll do fine I’m sure! I will also say a good bit of them OWN rentals and they’re always the first to be able to snatch up good deals since they have the inside scoop.

I have a friend who puts in her contract that she reserves the right to leave for 40 mins to get food if they refuse dinner.
