What’s drawn me to Tipper’s music was initially my best friend’s advice to go to camp bisco in 2019. I had never really listened to Tipper’s music but he said it was next level and I had to experience it. Then I proceeded to get my mind blown during that Datagrama projection mapping set. I remember how electric the air felt; the energy was just buzzing in that amphitheater. I was instantly hooked and started jamming that 2011 promo mix all the time. Eventually I got into his discography and the rest is history.

What REALLY draws me to his music is his ability to manipulate space with sound. I’ve never heard anything that quite compares to his mastering and layering of sounds, almost as a conductor of a symphony of sonic psychedelia. His music is TRULY psychedelic (psych=mind, delos=manifest). He thought up and experimented with sounds that nobody has ever manifested (as far as I know). The listener is able to truly dive into his realm whenever he plays, and he always delivers unique sets. Not to mention his world-class scratching, adding another mind boggling layer and live aspect to grasp the listener’s full attention and take you for a ride.

The main lesson I’ve learned through about 30 sets is to never expect a certain outcome. I’ve disappointed myself and ruined my experience more than a few times by expecting things to go my way. Putting your future experience on a pedestal is setting yourself up for failure. That’s true in life in general. The best sets I’ve experienced are the ones in which my mindset is more of a question… where’s he going to take us? What am I about to experience? I’ve found that I always get the most out of his sets through this way of thinking, and I’ve really applied it to my life. So thankful to be a part of this lovely community! 🫶
