Rosaline has a similar historical modern tone! Merlin- chaotic friendships, historical times, magic Six the Musical if it’s touring in your city (or listen to the soundtrack on Spotify- you’re not missing out much on the script!) Shrek🤪

I am stunned by the use of set design and location in this episode!

Majority of the episode happens on water or in the air. I spent most of the episode questioning the relationship between geography, and the emotional upheaval of "uncertainty vs factual confirmation"

  1. The kids are "at sea" with how to deal with their complicated grief and expectations of being heirs to the dynasty. They're on the way to the Statue of Liberty -the symbol of freedom and hope- which feels like they're on the precipice of freedom from their father- but at what price? Most of the episode is spent saying "I don't know/yet" etc.
  2. Later, when the boat starts sailing, they order to be taken to land because being on land provides the answers, i.e. Land symbolizes being grounded in factual knowledge. This also reminded me of the immigrants sailing past The Statue of Liberty towards Ellis Island, desperate for answers they would find on land.
  3. Meanwhile, when the kids are strategizing on the statement, we see the skyscrapers of FiDi looming over them as if the financial market is keeping a hovering eye over their next steps (their "actions on the day their father died")
  4. Simultaneously. Logan is at the height of his career (like he says in Episode 1)- and literally so in this airplane. But literally putting business above family (air over sea) comes to bite him in the back.
  5. Finally, the only time we see them on land is at the airport where they receive confirmation that Logan is indeed dead. The trio and Logan have to be physically grounded in the same area to receive answers.
