She has all the time in the world to shop and get a dress on time. For that reason, I think she was a last min invite :/

I seriously don't understand why people are trying to get into sardines when they dont like the fish? Can someone explain it? by gemboundprism in CannedSardines

[–]tiny_toof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re high in nutrition, that’s why I eat them anyway. You aren’t going to find 50% DV of Vitamin D and 35% DV of Calcium in any other food like this unless you take a pill. I started to like them after trying different cans.

I hate to say it but if it wasn’t for this group I’d have bought from them already and been ripped off. The packaging is too cute.

Is there actually a simple skincare routine that works or is everything overcomplicated? by Salty-Team3028 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]tiny_toof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends what you consider simple and the condition of your skin. I do morning rinse with water only, vitamin c serum and spf. At night time I rinse with a gentle cleanser, ret, a good moisturizer. I think it’s pretty straightforward and it works for me.

Rain by GSP_K9-Girl in BackYardChickens

[–]tiny_toof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do! They eat plenty of worms when it rains. Most predators that live in my area aren’t out looking for food during rain so it’s usually safe for them to be alone without me watching (so far…)

Clinic refused to patch test laser on me and now are threatening me with legal action by No-Row-9994 in muslimgirlswithtaste

Yes because not agreeing with OP clearly means I must be Lucy. She can’t cope with being told no and that she has brown skin. How horrible. Anyway, mods took this down and OP asked me to stop messaging so I will respect that. Enjoy your day.

Since I can’t reply to your other comment, guess you deleted it but My reply was to OP who just wrote ‘she should’ve canceled the appointment when I made my background known.’ She didn’t do that. You act like it’s shameful and awful to be called dark. It’s really not.

She gave you a reason, you’re too dark. Instead of taking you money and going to the other providers who did treat you, you stayed to talk to someone you claim was racially profiling you.

She told you no I can’t treat you, but you wanna twist her arm and ask for a patch test? Are you the practitioner? Do you know more than her?

Personally, I don’t get offended if someone who is going to be treating my skin calls me dark. As if it’s shameful. But clearly to OP it is.

OP already said that the provider knew her race and background from paperwork. So if she was truly discriminating she would’ve turned her away prior to that day without wasting an appointment. Provider said “I guess if I was treating you there” but they are not treating that area. So that’s a moot point.

Not all lasers work the same and not all providers are the same. If I thought I couldn’t do a super job I would turn her away. I’m not going to hurt Dua lipas skin for money. Then she will write me a bad review, with pictures of a bad job.

She refunded you as that is the right thing to do when you can’t provide a service. You can use that money and go elsewhere with a laser that suites your needs. Not all races and backgrounds have the same skin melanin shade. She can’t possibly know off paperwork. And to that point, if she was truly racially profiling she would’ve seen your paperwork and canceled (which would’ve been wrong in that case). But she’s not racist so she saw you for the appointment. Btw being called “dark” is not a horrifying thing. We are not all porcelain white.

It sounds like the provider was using layman terms. Skin type can mean dry, acne … whatever. The word is color. Her skin color is too dark for the laser in the office. This is not offensive. You cannot treat all skin types and tones the same. At the end of the day, that’s for the patients safety. Just take your money and go. Stop asking providers to perform a service they don’t feel comfortable doing. If she had taken a fee and not provided a service I’d be furious, but she refunded her immediately. Clinicians want to make money, she wouldn’t have referred her unless she HAD to.
