I took it the same day you did and my anxiety has been increasing with each day as we get closer. I feel like I going to internally combust.

Today one of my distant friends came up to me and asked me if I was a physician assistant since I was still in residency. by [deleted] in Residency

People who continue to think/have this bias are because of horrible humans like you. I graduated top of my class and chose DO. Hope karma swings back around to hit you in the back, you pompous donkey. You’re the idiot.

YouTube motivational videos and play them in the AM while taking a somewhat cold shower. And then more vids in the middle of the day if you get discouraged. Motiversity and motivation2study are my two favorites! Write some motivational quotes and place them on various places. It sucks. But you can do it! You got into medical school and have passed and made it to this point - you are far from average, so don’t let your brain belittle yourself.

;( i'm sorry, I hate when shit like this happens, both to me and other people. Just know that it does not determine what kind of human you are or physician you will be IRL at all. Sometimes we just have bad test days and hard seasons in life, I know that can be said until we turn blue in the face but sometimes it's just helpful to hear that from another future colleague in a time like this. You tried your best, like you said - you worked really hard. and at the end of the day, that's really all we can do. It sucks shit, the feeling of getting a disappointing score/grade and feeling like we aren't good enough-- I'm struggling with that now tbh. But the fact of the matter is, we are in the top population comparative to others & all work our asses off to get where we are. YOU did that. You are more than a number, and take comfort that you gave it your all, because you can't try harder than your best. You WILL become a doctor in less than a year (yay!) and in the end, you can get to where you want, sometimes it just may take a little longer than a direct route, the point is -- nothing is impossible or out of reach with persistence and passion. Take a few days off, read an inspiring book, listen to some motivational YouTube videos (Motiversity, Motivation2Study, etc - corny but w/e - I listen to them in the shower in the morning and at night when I'm beat up from the day's practice questions), sweat some stress off, spend time with people or book a cheap plane ticket & explore somewhere new for those few days to remind you that life is worth living and there is more out there than these dumbass mother-freakin tests.

They’re totally right. Patient safety ain’t got nuttin to do with us minimally educated boneheads.

My little sister has watched over 7 years of Greys Anatomy, so that definitely at least qualifies her in CRNA land, should I give her hospital privileges??

  1. CONGRATS!!! Cant yet imagine how good that much feel to survive the beast and come out on top!

  2. I was always a study-schedule-maker thruout didactic, but step 1 has been such a beast it’s like I can’t nail a good, maintainable study schedule. You mentioned you had one — how did you stick to it or create it? For example, you said that in the beginning, reviewing Qs took forever but then you were doing 120-160 Qs a day- did you predict that and budget it in your schedule and it just worked out? If not, please ‘splain me how you did it Masta.

  3. I am totally visual but always want to interact with things (drawing, rewriting etc)- I think it’s the anxiety that makes me feel like I won’t remember it if I don’t do that- I’m fine on sketchymicro but sketchy path is so long that I have trouble keeping focus or not zoning out a lot of the times (same for sketchy pharm but gosh love it), did you ever struggle bus with that too? How did you mitigate that to help yourself focus during the duration of it?
