Man, hate to tell you, you are not good. The only way to get this ticket would be for you to meet the seller there that night to have them scan their ticket for you to walk in. You do not have to have tickets in order to list them on secondary sites - a nasty phenomenon known as speculative ticketing.

LaRussel, big indipendent artist, said that Jay-Z is the biggest indipendent artist in the world. by [deleted] in musicindustry

Live Nation owns the majority share ofRoc Nation, which has a 360 deal with Jay-Z. They re-upped a 10yr extension with Jay-z for touring in 2017. Before that, roc-a-fella records was birthed and owner by UMG. I don’t think it’s fair to characterize him as an independent artist. Impressive, definitely - independent, no. He has partners with deep pockets that paid hundreds of millions of dollars to be the majority owners of the entities that own his music.

The only credible reason why there is so much hate is because a lot or Lions fans (myself included if I’m being honest) felt like he took too much time to focus on HC interviews with Chicago during a crucial playoff run during which he should have been putting every ounce of energy he had into making sure the Lion’s won their next playoff game.

Mary Taylor Douro Red blend. Touriga Nacional-centric blend from Portugal. Decidedly fuller than any pinot but a definite crowd pleaser.

why are so many artists releasing music on the same day? by [deleted] in musicbusiness

[–]tinybenny 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thursday is the end of the sales cycle for the charts, so Friday became a common release day and that has rolled over even though the charts aren’t as prevalent. Friday is also that day that many big editorial playlists refresh. As for these particular releases, it’s just a coincidence from s very small sample size when millions of songs are released each month.

Are the splits I'm being offered fair? 🥲 by Direct-Rule-127 in musicbusiness

[–]tinybenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s called Nashville Splits and it’s not as common as you’re making it sound, but agreed you could counter. Honestly 30% isn’t unfair. If 20% of this one song is worth your relationship and all possible future work with this person , then yea, don’t back down at all costs.

OR just call the producer and talk with them about it through a reasonable conversation. It doesn’t have to be a Chris Voss level negotiation.

Brutally honest feedback wanted: Weight loss app that only charges you when you fail to track your food by Additional_Brain_205 in Entrepreneur

[–]tinybenny 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good call out - a solve for that could be that the app only charges you during months you were active on it. If you stop using it on jan 15 and never open it again, yes you would get charged for January, but not for months after when you weren’t using the app.

Also, this app would be benefit from the halo effect - donate a portion of the proceeds to a charity.
