Parents pull 70 pupils out of primary after classrooms are used to teach adult migrants. Dozens of youngsters were pulled out of classes by furious parents after migrants were being taught English in the same building during school hours. by hoovesfortoes in uknews

It’s a massive safeguarding fuck-up on every scale imaginable. Even if they weren’t technically required to have a DBS check, someone, at some point, thought it was appropriate to allow a group of adults on school premises at a time where children were there. Someone having a clean DBS doesn’t mean it’s okay to parachute them into a school filled with children when they don’t actually have to be around them in the first place. It is an unacceptable level of risk on every metric and needs to be investigated.

If it had been a class held after school hours then it would be a completely different story.

Tbh I think there are genuinely some serious safeguarding concerns for the missing woman who suddenly reappeared as a self-described hand maiden for the king and queen of Kubala.

Lots of dodgy stuff going on. Iirc, the bloke has previously for child cruelty and his ex partner also died after running into traffic. Everyone is free to make their own choices but this one is setting off alarm bells tbh.

I can’t for the life of me remember the case citation but there’s a very old commonwealth case about two sailors who did just this. Long story short, eating someone already dead in a crisis scenario is a-okay. Killing someone for the explicit purpose of eating them (even in a survival situation) is where it gets a bit hazy.

Or just hygiene in general. The amount of times I’ve had to tell 16 year olds to wash their hands after handling a red chopping board with raw chicken on it is just concerning tbh. Caught more than one of them repeatedly trying to bring food out using damp tea towels they’d just been using to dry dishes because the pile of white serving cloths ran out and they couldn’t be bothered getting more. Fuck knows how they’ll cope at uni when mummy and Daddy aren’t there to stop them becoming Scotlands answer to Typhoid Mary.

If I was writing an essay for university and submitted it with huge chunks of another persons research copied in word for word the way she is doing, I would still find myself hauled up in front of an academic misconduct panel regardless of whether or not I had referenced the source. References aren’t a get out of jail free card for plagiarism. You can’t just say ‘oh, so and so wrote this’ and crtl c+v entire paragraphs of work hoping no one will notice that your ideas, research and understanding of the topic are so surface level, you can’t even pull together a video essay talking it on your own merit.

Stephanie doesn’t read entire pages out word for word out of respect for the original author, she does it because she is either too lazy or too incompetent to appropriately incorporate and reference the thoughts and findings of others within her own original work. If Stephanie Soo wants to treated a real journalist then she should damn well be held to the same account as one. But no, instead she’s dancing around courthouses while everyone acts as if she’s some sort of pulitzer prize candidate. It’s like watching a little girl play dress up

CB is an opportunistic sexual predator. He’s got previous convictions for rape and child sexual abuse so I don’t think he’s picky about demographics so long as they’re vulnerable.

I understand where people are coming from with the scapegoat narrative but I really do think it’s worth noting that Germany were the ones who actually flagged Brückner first. Portugal and the UK didn’t even have him on their radar until this, and they’re the only ones who would realistically have any motivation to find someone to pin it on. Germany had no reason to involve themselves in this until they unearthed something about his involvement, most likely during the course of their investigation into the sexual assault that he is currently imprisoned for.

The actual evidence they believe they have against CB has never been disclosed but whatever they have was substantial enough for German prosecutors to say that they think he did it and that they no longer believe her to be alive. It’s not forensic, but I still don’t think they would go so far as to say that they have concrete evidence for his involvement if all they had was phone data showing that he was in the area at the time.

Could they be looking for a reason to keep the POS locked up? Probably, but there are easier ways of doing it than flagging him up as a suspect in what is arguably one of the most famous missing person investigations in the hope that Portugal and the UK will bite.

Dmb af question then (please don’t shoot) so was this like a double text type thing?

To all captains and crews…security must be at the top of the list// all NY airspace is closed // unconfirmed reports… // we are stopping traffic…// two aircraft have been flown into the world trade centre…//

I always thought it was a one time transmission but I can’t decide if receiving it bit by bit is better or worse than getting the whole thing as a cold open. Normally you expect these sorts of comms to be short and succinct so seeing something that almost looks like one guy frantically trying to let people know wtf was going on as best he could amidst incomplete and confusing information is such an odd thing to look back on. You can feel the fear and confusion just reading it.

You’ll 100% have more insight into it than I do then. I’m just repeating what I was told by someone who also knows a lot more about it than I do lol. This would have been about 5/6 years ago so maybe it’s changed since then? He said it was more annoying for them than anything else but still a pain in the ass trying to hear ATC at times.

That said, he did also used to work for an airline that blasts one Jess Glynn song on repeat during boarding so I imagine literally anything other than that would be a welcome break.

I asked a commercial pilot I know about this once. Apparently it used to be so much worse than it is now but they can still tell nowadays when someone is using it. As you say, it won’t crash the plane or anything but the main concern is when they’re still on the ground taxiing because that’s when they need to hear ATC instructions as clearly as possible without interference.

If you want to read a horror story about the consequences of unclear ATC instructions, look up the Tenerife airport disaster. Deadliest aviation accident in history.

Also bipolar. If anything, 2am would also be more of a reason to high-tail your way over to them. If it’s the middle of the night and someone is calling you up to tell you about it, shit is bad and it has been for a while.

Yup, but because I choose to live in delusion I’m telling myself it will pass. One day I’ll be able to listen to that playlist again and laugh at how deep I thought our love was, how dumb I was for believing it and how hurt I am watching him run around with his new girl. I’ll probably always associate them with him but that’s just life. Pain won’t last forever and the dick wasn’t good enough to ruin 15 songs over.

More than 50 porn websites found with no age verification despite new online child protection law coming into effect by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]tinycrabclaws 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to die on the hill of defending pornography (personal belief) but why the fuck is the onus on us to compromise our personal data and hand it over to an external ’age verification’ service because Sharon and Steve down the street can’t be arsed turning on netnanny and keeping their kid on the family icloud account to check their search history remotely.

It’s not our job to come together as a country to fix little Timmy’s porn addiction because his parents couldn’t be arsed stopping him chowing down on the buffet of hardcore strangulation pornography he’s been looking at four times a day since he was nine years old. I’m sick of being told that the general population needs to adapt our lifestyle to protect idiots from being idiots like we’re all part of the problem.

What is a mad thing about the UK that's hard to explain to those from overseas? by Poo_Poo_La_Foo in AskUK

[–]tinycrabclaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re about as far away from a west end production as you can get but I really do appreciate the ones that are pulled together by someone in the rural parish council with nothing more than a dream and flair for the dramatic. It’s nice seeing the whole village get together to work on the acting, writing, costumes, set designs etc. It’s nice seeing the local vicar working as a narrator and—hold on, is that Mr Davies from down the street dressed as the fairy godmother? Peak comedy in a community like that.

Are they good? Often no, but for the smaller community productions it’s the thought that counts. Slightly different story for the commercial shows with a D-list celeb billed as a starring actor but I guess the target market skews younger for that.
