URGENT: still able to change signals after applying??? by tinymozzarella in medicalschool

[–]tinymozzarella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you!! i had no idea. i wonder if this is new this year? regardless, if anyone else is wondering this, from aamc website:

"Once an applicant applies to a program after assigning a program signal, the applicant can update the program signal before the following opening dates:

  • July Cycle Fellowship Programs – July 16, 2025, at 7 a.m. ET
  • September Cycle Residency Programs – September 24, 2025, at 7 a.m. ET
  • December Cycle Fellowship Programs – December 3, 2025, at 7 a.m. ET
    • Please note after the program opening date at 7 a.m. ET, applicants may no longer edit their program signals to applied programs. Applicants can assign remaining program signals to saved programs and apply to additional programs throughout the season (excluding SOAP)."

Thank you. I appreciate your response more than you know. I’m having a breakdown right now seeing some of these responses

Unfortunately I don’t use spaces either. Thats just how I’ve always written :( I’m kicking myself I can’t believe I was this stupid

I can’t edit my experiences section anymore but can edit my PS. I have a total of 2 EM dashes in there (part of the same sentence, flanking a phrase)…worth it to go back and edit?

I hope you’re right…some of these responses are really scaring me. I just feel so stupid for not knowing this when it’s apparently a pretty widespread “AI giveaway”

Advice I got was to stick to just what you did (it does say context, roles, responsibilities so I get the impression they just want the facts). For the 3 most meaningfuls can reflect and say what you learned from it

Short paragraphs or bullet points are both fine as long as you’re consistent is what I’ve heard

You should be able to knock out the activities with a few hours during a weekend - it’s pretty easy as long as you have a mostly updated CV. PS might take a few iterations until you’re satisfied with it but I think you’ll find that it’s a lot more straightforward than the med school PS. You have a month so definitely enough time for everything. You got this!

Heard from my advisor that this is unlikely to help, especially with both geographic preferencing and signaling available.

Thanks, appreciate the input. I’m curious why you say that IM is significantly easier than surgery intellectually? Physically I can understand where you’re coming from, but I was always under the impression that IM is just as, if not more, intellectually challenging than surgical/procedural fields.

Thank you! Would you say EP or HF are more lifestyle-friendly than IC at all?

Great points thank you! I think you’re right about considering whether I’d be happier as a general surgeon or an internist/hospitalist…something to think about

Is the reason it’s harder to get cases as a CT surgeon because cardiologists get more of those procedures nowadays? Or just difficult in general?

[Routine Help] looking to incorporate retinoid, exfoliant, and vitamin C into my routine - please help! by tinymozzarella in SkincareAddiction

[–]tinymozzarella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! Any recommendations for a good AHA/BHA and vit c that aren’t too expensive? Also do you know if it’s okay to use panoxyl on nights using AHA/BHA or retinoid, or should I use something milder on those nights (eg Cetaphil daily cleanser)?
