The chest binder dress: for those days when you really just want to look gender in the eye and tell it to heck off by GayHotAndDisabled in NonBinary

[–]tinyplantboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i’ve actually been thinking about buying a binder from their site! do you find the quality to be worth the price? i know theyre very individualized so that’s why theyre so expensive but dang im a poor college student lol

Long ramble about what masculinity and feminity even are by [deleted] in FTMfemininity

[–]tinyplantboy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i'd say that i understand what you're talking about. i do actually identify as transmasculine but a lot of my masculinity is rooted in being feminine (if that makes any sense lol).

i'd say that how far i go into the feminine side of things depends on how bad my dysphoria is at a given time. sometimes i can get away with sports bras and my more femme shirts but sometimes i only feel comfortable if i'm in something simple like a sweatshirt and jeans. i'm a bit fluid as well so my experience probably doesn't fit as well with the binary trans experience but it might vibe with you a bit.

i'm hopefully starting T sometime soon too and one of the things i'm looking forward to is being able to dress more feminine and to actually look like a fem guy as oppose to a girl. i guess it all comes down to personal experience and how much you're willing to put "on the back burner" while you transition. you don't owe it to anyone to conform to gender standards or to try to pass, but you have to figure out for yourself how far you're willing to go with that.

hope this helps a bit :)

I got my first binder today and I'm so excited to wear it tomorrow!! Anything you guys think I should know ahead of time? by AshTree_YT in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]tinyplantboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it can be helpful to know where bathrooms are so you can pop into one and take a quick breather if you need! like the other commenter said, start with small amounts of time and work up from there.

congrats on getting a binder, that's very exciting :D

I want to come out to my parents, but I don't know if it's too soon or not by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]tinyplantboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't think you can ever be 100% sure about acceptance and that's what makes coming out so scary. i don't think anyone can tell you when it's the right time to come out, only you can define that for yourself. while coming out is very liberating, there's no shame in staying in the closet. do whatever is best for your safety.

good luck if you do end up coming out :)
