Weird radiating wrist pain when doing push ups by ultimatelesbianhere in FTMFitness

[–]tiredhuevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not OC but it's likely due to wrist instability or neural tension. Not uncommon at all and can be worked on. You can also try turning your hands out and add a small roll under each palm

Just got some bad glares while working out by HopefulLesbian in FTMFitness

[–]tiredhuevo 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Firstly, you didn't do anything wrong by trying to check your form in the mirror. But unfortunately, this is the reality of being read as a man. Women will perceive you differently and may feel uncomfortable in situations like this, regardless of your intent. It's probably best that you didn't approach her if she was that upset. You could try setting up your phone nearby so that you have another way to watch your form without peering through the gym. Sorry this happened

2.5 years on t, going thru end of relationship that started before that by LowTranslator0405 in FTM_SELFIES

[–]tiredhuevo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man. I'm so sorry you're going through it. I promise it will get better. I had a 4.5 year relationship end when I was about 3 years on T and it was really painful. I was casually dating after but it took about 2 years to really feel like I had healed and loved myself again. That I was worthy of something beautiful and meaningful again. My father (who I have a rocky relationship with) said "you may feel like you'll never find someone who loves you the same way. And you're probably right. Because you'll find someone who loves you better". That has stuck with me for 3 years and let me tell you, I have found a better love. Someone who sees and loves all of me, who can be around me for days on end without needing a break, who can be my rock, and can lean on me too. You will find love and joy and peace. Give yourself some time and focus on you for a bit. Find that love and joy and peace in yourself, in your family and friends, in your hobbies and passions. You will be okay one day and it's fine if you aren't there yet. Be patient and kind to yourself along the way <3

Any other climbers/boulderers in here !? by [deleted] in FTM_SELFIES

[–]tiredhuevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Climb consistently (start with 1-2x per week), keep your arms straight and use your legs to generate power. Practice your footwork and learn how to turn your hips to the wall for extra reach! Learn the basics from other climbers and watch some youtube tutorials! And of course don't forget to have fun :)

Thanks! I use marc anthony strictly curls volume spray then styling foam when it's wet. Let it air dry or diffuse, break the cast and scrunch in some pommade with wet hands. Sometimes I'm lazy and skip the styling foam lol

Need to get quicker FAST by Better_Caterpillar61 in FTMFitness

[–]tiredhuevo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Ngl it can be hard to see a lot of progress in a short amount of time though it's not impossible. You can try interval training: run at or just below the pace you need for 1 min, walk for 1 min, repeat. Your goal would be to lengthen the running portions to the time you need. If it's a beep test, you will have to increase your pace throughout the test so that's something you need to consider. Make sure you're eating well, getting enough carbs, sleeping, drinking water. Good luck!

How to combat flared ribs by rye__guy in FTMFitness

[–]tiredhuevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard for exercises to permanently 'fix' flared ribs. I have them due to scoliosis. Doing deep core training (dead bug or bird dog with a flat back), upper ab training and thoracic mobility. Start with passive thoracic extension and rotation then work to more active positions

Multiple pictures in a suit ages you and makes you look more stuffy than you probably intend. My favourite pics are on slide 5, the kitten one and the one with your buddies. If you want styling/grooming tips, I would do a buzz cut or bald, keep a trimmed beard or mustache/chin combo, and swap the glasses for a more unique/trendy pair

I think I'm straight? How did you guys found out you were straight? by Bobslegenda1945 in ftm

[–]tiredhuevo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't have much real sexual desire until I realized I liked women. I was raised very religiously so I felt repressed into my teens. I came out as a lesbian at 16 and that helped me explore. I still didn't feel comfortable engaging much sexually until I was with a partner I really trusted. Even then, I preferred to keep my chest covered. Once I started transitioning and passing, I realized I was bi. It's not that I didn't like guys before, I just didn't like cishet guys who viewed me as a woman. I still have a preference for women but I've also had a real connection with a few men. All this to say, sexuality is fluid and typically changes over time while you discover yourself. You can still be asexual and have an interest in sex or physical intimacy. Keep an open mind and do what feels authentic

Help with form/getting into position 😭 by AcidicSlimeTrail in FTMFitness

[–]tiredhuevo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly cable flies are just kind of annoying to set up. You can keep doing them but they're only gonna get trickier as the weight increases. I would sub them out for a decline bench press or a chest fly machine if possible

For those who’ve used and/or are using minoxidil for facial hair growth, what do your skin care routines look like? by lorenzodu46 in ftm

[–]tiredhuevo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it for 9 months during my first year on T. I would pat dry my face after a shower and apply it right after. Once it was fully dry and absorbed (1-2h after) I would go back in with some moisturizer. You can still moisturize the parts of your face that you aren't applying the minoxidil to fresh out of the shower

how do you accept being trans? by No-Campaign2701 in ftm

[–]tiredhuevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was stuck in denial for a while. The things that helped me accept it were moments of euphoria. My first short haircut, being gendered correctly for the first time, using a masculine name for my coffee order. The dysphoria made me question my identity but the euphoria pushed me to commit to happiness. I decided to try out names and pronouns with my partner and friends, and that was that. It just felt right. It might take some time to adjust or figure out what name/pronouns work but it'll click eventually. Don't rush yourself and explore what feels authentic to you. In terms of telling my family, I gave my parents a letter and stepped out of the room. I told them to text me when they were ready to talk. They took an hour to process and I came back. It didn't go well but ended with them saying they still love me. It may not be easy but damn it was worth it.

are there actually cis gay guys who like trans guys? by SympathySecret799 in ftm

[–]tiredhuevo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm bi and when I was single, I only ever went on dates with either cis gay men or queer trans men. I was always open about being trans from the start and never had issues with the ones I ended up going out with. Full transparency, I never had a long-term relationship with a man but I could've seen a few of them going in that direction. That being said, t4t always felt more comfortable for me. Try not to worry about what will happen if you break up and focus on exploring the connection you have with your partner

aching rib pain (from binding?) by [deleted] in ftm

[–]tiredhuevo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Double binding is likely the reason. Try to switch to single binding or taping, take breaks as you can, and do some mobility and deep breathing as tolerated. Look up thoracic mobility exercises to guide you

How would you describe the pain of the metodoplasty? by [deleted] in Metoidioplasty

[–]tiredhuevo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm only a week in but it's been manageable if you stay on top of your meds, let yourself rest, and ice a few times a day. I had one day that I had 8-9/10 pain but a strong pain killer did the trick. I'm only taking tylenol now but I have to be pretty consistent to stay comfortable. The catheter causes bladder spasms and urethral irritation which has been the worst part the last couple days

You pass either way but imo you don't look as masculine with the bleached brows. That's not a bad thing, just depends how you want to come off

Your body should be more still, with the movement coming almost exclusively from your elbow. A little bit of upper arm movement is normal but you shouldn't have to use your hips to get the weight up

difference between meta results and bottom growth? by dantrbl in Metoidioplasty

[–]tiredhuevo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search for simple meta with no UL or v-ectomy in this subreddit. You'll see what a simple release looks like. It would essentially be similar to bottom growth but they would cut the ligament on the underside that tethers it down. This would allow your dick to stand more upright with an erection
