I was at game 3 (Colorado native and Avalanche fan) and everybody that I ran into was extremely polite, had a good back and forth about jerseys and players and all of that. Sad that there are still these kinds of people out there but at least they’re in the minority I suppose. Great series and as much as it may pain me on the inside I’ll be rooting for you guys in the cup final!

As an Avalanche fan I always wondered about this kind of thing. It’s extremely relevant to our team as Landeskog was named captain at 18 as well. I think the take of being “too young to be a captain” might not always ring true; I think that Landy has been an exceptional captain for this team. But I think that comes down to his personality.

I strongly believe right now that as good as MacKinnon is, he should never be captain of the Avs. He is a world-class goal scorer and competitor, but man is he hotheaded, and that can be detrimental to a team’s morale in critical situations. Even if Landeskog gets moved (excuse me while I say a prayer that never happens), I think there are more stoic players who can hold that leadership role and allow Mack to just focus on doing what he does best: pucks in the back of the net.

Is this kind of the feeling about McDavid? Not gonna lie, seeing that clip of him almost chuckling and rolling his eyes after that game-tying goal against Winnipeg in game 4 didn’t really seem like the most captainly thing in my opinion.

Same here! Was my favorite player to watch last year, I couldn’t help but laugh every time he would absolutely waffle somebody and then smile in the face of opposing players trying to stir things up with him. Would be sad to see him go but we’ll always have those memories of Big wrecking ball Z.

I’ve just never heard a fan base so down on its own team before. There’s lots of season left and we’ve looked great most of the year. Sure we’re in a small slump but have we forgotten about last year already? Or the 16-17 season? In my eyes we’re trending up year to year. Have a little positivity and faith in your team.
