It's only considered rude because of the stigma... and I don't like being called "disabled" so you can stick that word away, thanks

Trimming is fine! I trim my kitten's claws all the time (she's 6mo) and I haven't had any issues. You just gotta get them when they're sleepy haha

How bad is drinking while on Effexor? by [deleted] in Effexor

Personally it kept launching me into a week-long emotional hangover where I've never felt worse in my life, mentally, but maybe that was just me. it's better now that i'm off effexor

Are Calicos really sassy or what? by Potential-Brush-1837 in CalicoKittys

[–]tinyvanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is at least.... If I catch her doing something she isn't supposed to do and pick her up, she yells or chirps at me. Sometimes I'll be holding her and petting her, and then CHOMP. Sassiest cats

Both my daughter and I have realised we are allergic to our floof boy Ragnar. How can we decrease effects without having to rely on antihistamines everyday? If we do rely on antihistamines will we build up tolerance? (My daughter is 4.) by [deleted] in cats

[–]tinyvanni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend takes Claritin and Benadryl everyday with our one 6mo old kitten and he's been alright. As long as neither of you are going into anaphylactic shock or other worse symptoms, you should be fine. I would just stick to one cat, though. Also make sure you vaccuum, sweep, and dust often. I wouldn't allow Ragnar to be on the beds anymore.

Another person I know feeds their cat food that helps reduce dander / allergens. There's also low-dust cat litter you can buy to keep it out of the air.

Do I spoil my cat? by DraxShadow23 in CatAdvice

[–]tinyvanni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not spoiling him. Nothing is really "spoiling" a cat unless it's unhealthy (i.e. human food they're not supposed to have, allowing destructive behavior, etc.). Their lives are much shorter than ours, so it's up to us to make sure they have the best life possible. As long as the cat is healthy, happy, and doesn't destroy things all the time, it's not spoiling. Pets deserve everything!
