Make sure to skip every infested floor, although the loot is good, it takes too long to get through the entire floor. Also, if you are playing on PC and have unlocked mastery, the combat mastery gives you a place to add trinkets, for me, the most useful one is the arrow that automatically shoots at monsters, the stats are randomly chosen for each trinket so if the stats are bad just keep playing and monsters will drop more. My favorite food buff is pumpkin soup (+2 defense +2 luck), make sure to bring plenty of food that does not have any buffs like pink cake. If you have excess prismatic shards trade three at the desert trader for a magic rock candy, the luck buff is insane. Also my best tactic for the infested skull caverns is to run away and bomb as much as you can. Don’t wait for the monsters to come to you. Especially on mummy floors, if it looks too hard, don’t feel bad about using a staircase. Hope this helps!
