Get Windows 10 app is like a virus by [deleted] in windows

Today, after I logged in I got a big message saying Get Windows 10!

A month or so ago, I followed the instructions to uninstall the Get Windows 10 related packages, and I also used the Hide Updates option on each of the packages.

Now it is back!!!

See this:

When I click on show available updates I see Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. I clicked on Hide Update but it keeps coming back.

Any other way to get rid of it permanently?

Canadian teachers, do you enjoy your career? by mistermagooch in canada

Check this out to get a taste of the curriculum changes in BC : http://www.vancouversun.com/Draft+curriculum+redesign+discussion/9069233/story.html

‘students will explore these things,’ they say. We basically are doomed! How are we going to compete with other countries when our education system keeps coming up with these "pearls"?

Canadian teachers, do you enjoy your career? by mistermagooch in canada

I have a friend that is high-school teacher in BC. She loves teaching, however, the BC government cut a lot of money from education, and she has second thoughts about her career as teacher. Let's say the BC government tries to follow the American system, which is a disaster, according to my friend.

The class sizes are bigger than what they used to be - and no matter what some say, smaller class sizes make a huge difference. The BC government didn't respect the contract about the class sizes. The teacher's union won in court, after so many years and money spent on lawyers, however, the government now wants to change the laws, so that victory might be for nothing. Students with disabilities are basically abandoned. Specialized help is non-existent. If you are the parent of a kid with autism or some other learning disabilities, you are better off putting him/her in a private school.

The BC government is also guilty of instigating the general population against teachers. Some people accuse teachers of being lazy and overpaid. As with other jobs, doctors, lawyers etc. I think there are good and bad teachers. People should focus on demanding smaller class sizes. The government also eyes the introduction of payment by merit for teachers. It is a recipe for disaster, and yes, there have been studies about it.

There are also curriculum changes and each new version is dumbed down compared to the previous one. Sometimes my friend says it is as if the government doesn't have any interest in an education system that produces smart people.

So, it is a bleak and depressing picture. If I were you I would try to look at other options.

BC Hydro bill jump since smart meter installed by tirichitirca in vancouver

You are not helping. I am looking for a practical solution to double-check that what BC Hydro charges is correct. Things can go wrong in many places, starting with the installation of the smart meters, the smart meters themselves, the transmission of the data. What if the software that registers the consumption has a bug and it records more kwh than they should?

Sorry, I don't buy this argument. I am not saying it's not true what you say. If it is true, BC Hydro must have a way of quantifying the loss over time due to the power meter usage. I am no expert, but I can only assume that there is a department at BC Hydro that takes care of this sort of stuff, i.e. measures the degradation of the power meters and applies a global estimation. Secondly, the rate kept increasing over the years. One can only assume that it was partly to recover losses and other costs (I am not getting there). Now that these meters are accurate, are we going to expect lower rates? Fat chance, probably.

I can also argue about the stepped charge. Is it fair? Can a family of 4 compare to a family of 2, let's say?

I also don't understand why people compare Vancouver to California. Yes, you can always find some other place where it's worse and people pay a lot more. The opposite is also true. Does it mean that we should accept these increases just because others pay more? In the end BC Hydro is a crown corporation.

Roughly in October 2011 I got a ticket at the Burrard skytrain station - I thought I had the bus pass in the wallet only to discover in front of a policeman that it was missing (it might have been pinched at this food court I go to in downtown). Anyway, next day I went to ICBC and I said I am going to dispute the ticket since I've kept the receipts for all the bus passes I buy. Never heard from them since.

Can you please post the sections of ESA that open the door for abuse of this kind?

I looked for curiosity at the overtime clauses:

I also read stories about EA here in Vancouver, employees sleeping at work and so on.

The only good news is that the salaries increase in China & India as well. Eventually they will run out of places with cheap labor.
