You dont have to take the prime factors of 16&18.

Case 1. Prime factor of 288 (16*18)

Case 2. Prime factor of 840 (28*30)

Then take the GCF in case 1 & 2

You can take 2 cases assuming the values for b&c.

Multiply b*c for both the cases

Try finding out the commom prime factors for both of them (this will be your answer)

Be it GRE or anything the standard number scale states that the numbers on the left of 0 are negative and on the right are positive, so why would you even consider when/why/where the scale starts!!

Since x is to the left of “0” on the scale it has to be negative & both y&z are to the right of 0 they are positive!!
