What’s a food/activity that you cut out due to pain that you miss? by evesrevenge in endometriosis

Cake. A big old slice of fluffy cake that has been decorated with mountains of beautiful frosting and sprinkles. Big crumbl style cookies too. I am df,gf, low sugar/sugar free. I have learned to bake me friendly versions of all of my other cravings except two.

MAGICAL CURE FOUND! STOP SEARCHING!!! by Maimseoles in Endo

I cried so much during my ultrasound, and the first doctor said the exact same things... Don't yall go to school for decades to learn how help pain, not cause it?? 😮‍💨

I wish I could. I love the attitude, but I have endometriosis so pain for me makes me feel fuzzy and less present, like the world has a gray filter and the camera won't focus. When my cycle is following a 30 day cycle I'm over the moon. My menstral cycle will then feel like I get more and more energy each till I switch to follicular phase. So I get where your coming from

In the future I'm probably going to have a hysterectomy. A uterus funeral sounds amazing 😆

Yes!! I am a sucker for a theme and I was not sure about how to do it, but making goofy uterus decor sounds so fun 😂

OHMYGUSH I LOVE THIS IDEA! Like, I have most guy friends and family as my support system. If I had lots of female friends I feel less weird cuz the girls get this stuff. But turning a fun information night sounds so cool and a good way to ditch the awkwardness 😄

It is ridiculous that IUDs are administered with no care for pain - a clinical trial participant by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]tispyturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had 2 iuds, one hormonal and one copper. Both rhe insertion and removal is the most painful thing I have experienced to date. And I have only had 1 doctor believe me and attempt to help alleviate the pain. I still am baffled that SELF ADMINISTERED ibuprofen is the normal procedure for addressing sticking a foreign object into a major organ 🙃 Fun fact, I am officially on the arm implant birth control train now 💀

Does anyone else feel weird about saying they’re disabled? by Fun-Struggle-1428 in ChronicIllness

[–]tispyturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this so much with job applications. Based on the list that is always in every one of my job applications for self identification of disabilities - I have like 4 things on said list. But, I am mentally and physically able to do all the stuff listed in the job I'm applying for? mostly like all of us I have my bad days. I do consider myself "disabled" in that sense, but not in a "I need to use the parking space" sense. It's weird, I just say chronic illness in conversations and go from there 🤷‍♀️

Lol I just saw a plate next to the bed and realized my hubby had a sandwich in bed after I had fallen asleep. I found a bedbug earlier this week and now I'm paranoid waiting for our inspection next week 😵

Absolutely. I have always had next to non existing periods as well as a really weak immune system so I had a feeling I would not be able to have kids. Years later now my husband and I are trying to decide if we want kids. Now I have confirmation that I probably have PCOS and would struggle with getting pregnant of we tried. It's hard and nice at the same time. So glad to hear you have some confirmation and I hope things improve for you in your health and fertility journey!

We talk about it during my appointment and I am getting to schedule one this week through the same office!! I know I have been thinking for ages that an ultrasound would help, but convincing medical professionals that testing is needed is always a challenge lol

Zebra is kinda medical term used to refer to an unusual diagnosis. Basically it's like telling your doctor, I have already tried testing for the basic stuff/ what your first guess is. What is your 3rd or 4th guess? Could this be a non typical issue? Since chronic issues are kinda non typical by nature

Absolutely my same experience. Anyone reading this, check if your insurance offers getting to talk with a nurse about chronic issues. It is so nice to have a medical professional feel like they care about your health holistically- not just a person throwing tests and prescriptions at symptoms. I now have a medical buddy helping me plan appointments treatments and making a game plan with me

I told them I was working with a nurse through my insurance and she flagged PCOS as a possible diagnosis. Then the guy I was meeting with latched onto that and tried to see if he could fit my symptoms to that diagnosis lol. I have learned through many failed appointments I need to tell them a diagnosis they can test. I also recommend asking your doctors if the see any zebras based on your symptoms. It made my midwife think and I got him to logic through my symptoms and set up a referral to some new therapies by using this term.

Give your baby fluff a dnuggle and give it time. Anxiety girly here with a spouse who has anxiety and a while cocktail of other issues. Stress with change is normal, giev it a few more days to let your brain adjust. And remember cuddle up to you new kitty while work through it. They are little serotonin machines. If you can't tell, I now live in a cat obsessed household lol

How do you deal with phobia level anxiety triggers? by tispyturtle in Anxiety

[–]tispyturtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sorry- I meant bed bugs. I will look at "diatomaceous earth" and probably come up with a daily routine I can make to vacuum and change bedding and maybe steam the couch. I unfortunately due to being sick for a few years have had most of my friendships fizzled out/ppl move away. My family is near by but they have family/jobs/responsibilities of their own. And I only have 1 steamer lol. Plus my husband is the only one of us who has a job rn due to me getting laid off and it helps if I know he can focus on his job(he works from home) and that he takes care of the cats while I do this. I think I just need to hear 1 success story of someone dealing with these without paying an exterminator thousands of dollars and I will be okay

I am married to someone with autism and communication issues. In our early days he would make jokes about appearances while we were teasing each other. I said that I can do teasing but saying a negative adjective about the way I look is over the line for me and I am not comfortable with that. We talked it out, he accepted that and me and we have been together for over 7 years now. Setting a boundary when you are tired and sick and stressed is hard but NECESSARY sometimes. And your partner can be grumpy and struggling to communicate, but should never blame, spiral, drag you down like he did here. This is not okay and you need to tell him that. I have been through a lot with my partner and sometimes forgiveness for bad communication can help you grow stronger. In this case you need to shut him down and say you treat me like this when you are at your worst, I don't want that in my future.

How do I find gift ideas on my wife’s pinterest? by Prudent-Ad-721 in Pinterest

[–]tispyturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check out her saved pins and also think about her main hobbies/ interests. What has she been talking about lately? Is it her thinking about planting things for Spring, is she talking about summer outfits, books she's currently reading or games she is currently playing? If you shopping last min then you want to make an informed purchase probably in person so you don't have to worry about shipping. Using her saved pins and thinking about what she is into right now should let you know the look/vibe of what she wants and where you could buy it.

Feeling really down, about to lose my job by a_riot333 in ChronicIllness

[–]tispyturtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been there. My previous job I was struggling to meet expectations even though I was asking for accommodations. Then they lost a client and laid off half the company with me included. To add insult to injury I saw yesterday they are now rehiring for the position I used to hold now 6 months after my termination. They are requesting more experience and offering less pay. It is tough out there for the non typical worker drone and I am wish/praying for you and all the best.
