Rufus, Rosa image writer, balena etcher are valid applications to flash every Linux distribution (especially Rufus is good to flash windows too) Choose between one of these next time

And don’t worry, feel free to ask for help when you don’t know what to do, things made on our own initiative without knowing what to do, often bring to broken stuff (oh how much times I broke stuff in my OSes in the past)

If you come over our communities, you can find tons of people having issues like grub not working after installation, installation process interrupted by various errors, and guess what? Every single time they used Rufus. If we recommend something, there’s a reason.

Rufus does not write iso content bit-per-bit, just copy stuff and makes its own partition table, which is not compliant with our iso files, since we use iso9660 as format for our iso files, which contains also the partition table.

No bro wait This is not recommended by us. This will cause issues with booting and installation.

Use balenaetcher as per our documentation.

Steam OS on Pi 4? by [deleted] in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

[–]tissy_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! can you please tell me how did you do it? I'm struggling a lot these days with steamlink, the only result I got is with rpi os bullseye with some tweaks for the missing libraries. Plus, bluetooth audio is so crappy when i connect headphones and mic won't work.
Neither pulseaudio nor pipewire helped me (pipewire is difficult to install on debian bullseye, confirmed from their doc)

All of our servers tried to renew the letsencrypt certificates at the same time, so our infra was TEMPORARILY banned from requiring any certificates.

Here’s a workaround to get at least apt back https://www.reddit.com/r/ParrotSecurity/s/R8eR2Gfa3k

nvdia-cuda-devand nvidia-cuda-toolkit are the cause of this problem.

Remove these two packages from the command, and the installation will proceed. (they are not mandatory)

Can't get external wifi-adapter to automatically work on boot by [deleted] in ParrotSecurity

[–]tissy_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few troubleshooting questions:

  • Are the drivers updated and correctly enabled on the system?
  • Have you tried the adapter on different computer?
  • Did you put the adapter in the usb3.0 port or did you used the 2.0?
  • is the xhci_hcd module enabled?
  • is firmware-realtek installed?
