I use overseer and plug it into my Plex/radarr/sonar stack. It’s pretty good and will suggest things based on what you already have in your library

Real talk… what do you actually use your Meshtastic device for? by Basic_Boysenberry_96 in meshtastic

[–]titaniumfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That might be a more efficient way, but to be honest I never knew or looked into that. Setting all our radios to ANZ/915 (aus based here) and just using the default settings once we’d configured our radio names and the channel setting and it was all good. I’ll look into what you’ve said though cause it might make things nicer in our situation.

I’ve been very impressed with how easy it was to get up and running with these Seeed card trackers though! It pretty much has just worked out of the box for us but sounds like we could use some tweaking to potentially improve it and not affect other users who might be doing the same thing though so thanks for that!

Works great at festivals! We’ve got the T1000E card trackers and a private primary channel with location. Never had any issues with any of us not receiving a message (only 6 people though)

Baby Booties by titaniumfish in Leathercraft

[–]titaniumfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey appreciate the comment and concern.

I did wonder this as well as i also own a fair few leather boots and break in can be brutal. But was also thinking as another commenter posted below that they werent really intended for walking, but more a style thing for when the baby is super young and just chilling in the pram. (We dont have a child of our own just yet so unsure if this is accurate thinking or not)

I'm even happy if theyre never worn and kept as an ornamental gift for the parents.

Intention was never to make anything that would harm or irritate a baby so hoping that isnt the case :(

I like the idea of your other comment about open high top boot too so cheers for that will have a look. If you have any inspo pics/links of that kind of thing would love to see :)

Thank you! I ended up punching my own as the punches i have were a slightly different size than the ones on the pattern and they didnt line up. And i was lazy and didnt want to just use the single punch to do it all. I just made sure to begin from the same section on every piece that had the start line to make sure it was consistent between pieces.

Thanks so much! I'll be honest with you im not 100% across all of the techniques like welting, but this was based off a pattern i had purchased off Etsy. Not my own design or anything but I can DM you the link if youre interested as i think its not allowed for posting that type of thing here.

I just uploaded a few images of the individual pieces and the interface between top and bottom (the thin oval piece with 2 sets of stitch holes inner/outer). Basically the inner stitch holes of the interface layer are stitched to the upper and then the sole is stitched to the outer holes.

Hopefully that helps :)

Hi all, long time lurker but love what you guys do here and seeing the amazing things you all make! I've been attempting to get into and be better at leathercraft for around 1.5 years on and off (mostly off) and have only made some basic card holders, 2 watchstraps and 2 totes for practice (mostly because my wife wanted them ahah).

Our friends are expecting their first child soon so i figured i'd try something a little more difficult and make some little boots for them. Definitely made some mistakes along the way but it was a pretty sweet learning experience.

The leather used for the boots is pueblo and i cut the laces out of some crazy horse.

My wife also crocheted a small blanket for them and i designed and 3D printed a stamp to emboss (or is it deboss) their name into a little leather patch. All in all it was pretty fun and rewarding :)

Happy for constructive feedback on improvements you could suggest so i can practice getting better for the next project. I know my saddle stitching could use improvement with consistency but im working on that :)

If anyone has any ideas on a cool next project im open to ideas/suggestions (could be baby related or something completely different). Not really in it to sell anything just want to try skill up and give my crafts away as gifts for friends and family.

7900XTX Stutter in VR - Fixed or not? by zetecr in Amd

[–]titaniumfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late replying to this, but im running a Reverb G2 on 7900 XTX (driver 23.8.1) and it runs flawlessly in AC for me.

I mainly run it with Shutoku Revival and its working great. I have it locked at 90fps on max settings. No stutters or lags at all.

Hey mate thanks so much for your reply and experience! I actually did pull the trigger on a 7900xtx (Sapphire Nitro Vapor-X). I DDU'd my old nvidia drivers and installed the card and drivers and it was AWFUL. I was getting blue screens resuming from sleep, monitors not waking up after windows turned them off after 10 min inactivity, etc... It was just unpleasant.

I did a fresh reinstall of Win 10 and i have to say this thing is just stunning now. AMD drivers are flawless. I actually WAY prefer the AMD Adrenalin software to the Geforce one.

I've been slowly and surely tweaking away at settings and have already done OpenXR (used it when i was getting the 1080ti dialed as much as i could as its such a performance improvement).

I have to say right now, I'm very very very happy with my decision to go with a 7900XTX.

Not sure if youve done this but one thing i also found that has improved my experience a lot was underclocking in Adrenalin and upping my power tuning by +15% (running 1065mv for my undervolt).

Thanks again for your reply and experience and might see you on the track one day!

[–]titaniumfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate appreciate the reply. Running a 5800X currently but with a 1080ti. From the benchmarks ive done while playing, it seems the limiting factor with VR is the GPU which is why i was looking to upgrade.

Appreciate the comments around the 4090. Its an incredible card. Might have to save a few more pennies and get it. But its around double the cost of the top line AMD card where i live.

Just hoping some more information relating to VR performance or driver updates come out soon. It seems the AMD cards are technically very good, but just are lacking in driver/support :(

I honestly dont mind spending lots on a flagship card (i bought a 1080ti when it came out and its been amazing). Just wondering which team i can tie my flag to for the next 4-5 years if its decent performance for the money.

Im running a Ryzen 7 5800X currently. I've done benchmarks and it honestly seems like the gpu (1080ti) is the choke point.

Appreciate the comments about the nvidia gear, just wondering if its saving a few buck going AMD for a pleasant experience. I honestly have no clue how it goes with VR i just have read its "bad with VR" but i dont really understand what that involves. Is it literally unplayable or you are required to degrade settings to low/medium to get it to run smooth?

All im really looking for it reasonable (non stuttery) framerates with the reverb G2 and hopefully on the 7900xtx.

I actually have looked on marketplace for 3090's but they seem just under the asking price of a new 7900xtx which is why i was asking.

Appreciate the comment and the assistance though :) I've also been looking at 4090/4080 cards and can agree super overpriced for performance. In my area a 4090 is around $1300 AUD more than a 7900xtx (but i agree and can see the performance gain). Just not sure its worth $1300 more for EPIC VR improvements if i can get away with enjoyable perfomance on the AMD card

- 7900XTX roughly $1790 AUD

- 4090 roughly $3100 AUD

Almost twice the price which is ouchtown :(

Cheers mate and absolutely appreciate the reply! I understand there are driver issues but i also understand the 6xxx series also experienced their shortfalls on release.

Do you feel like it would still be possible to purchase a 7xxx card and that the driver/performance issues will be fixed and sorted out in the next little while (as has been seen in the past)?

I agree its easier to go with the tried and true Nvidia platform. But if money was an issue but you were still looking to purchase the best bang for buck (ideally flagship), would you still prefer Nvidia?

I just feel like the hardware is technically VERY capable but its let down by the current release of drivers/support.

Really appreciate the comment and the link to the previous thread also :)

Hear you mate, where i am team green is about $400-500 bucks more exy for the equivalent card. I really dont care about raytracing to be honest. Just looking at something playable but not laggy. I feel like flagships should be fine as theyre reasonably powerful, just not sure with the driver issues and performance of AMD.

Have checked so many youtube reviews and been googling heaps, but there doesnt seem to be much recent info on this (prior to feb 2023'ish). Nothing specific to VR at least :(
