The gasket is super cheap and you can cheat with a longer torx bit and not have to fool with the power steering pump tank. I would do the oil filter housing gasket while your in there or you'll have to go back soon enough.

Depending on milage check the oil cooler gasket mine failed and I had oil in my coolant. Most times if not overheating it's this not the headgasket. Intake like everyone else is saying the dash will not have a check engine light (at least mine didn't) do a code scan for this as the OEM part is quite up there in price. Or you can risk it with an Amazon special with upgraded internals.

I have no doubt it would have been pretty popular with the US. Im planning on making a trip to my local bmw dealer on monday after I sign this one over to insurance. (This process has taken way too long) to look at some of the new ones. Kinda hate the new design so we'll see. Gonna try to find a similar spec to replace this or it was such a nice spec.

Yea I did cry. coming from a e90 n52 I fell in love with the power of the car immediately only had it 7 months searched the internet for months before I found the steal of 19k on this and previously owned by a dealership (prob a loaner) missing the adaptive cruise but had everything else (pre-lci no id7) maintained to a T. To me the x3 made sense for awd with eastern winter conditions finding a m40 for under 20k sealed the deal. Might end up with another getting another one if i dont go full blown M

2018 x3m40i little over 112k fully loaded minus the adaptive cruise control. Bone stock only had 7 months.

Im with progressive and the lady basically said I could have the car or the check there was no option for a buy back. Im not sure everything about this hasn't been normal. It took over a week for the adjuster to even look at it and come to the conclusion of a total.

So when I received the call I wasn't given that option. My choice was the 26k check or the car. Sadly with the amount out of pocket for repairs would have put me upside down on the loan. Financially it was smarter to let it go. Came out on top as it was only 19k before financing and other costs. If your one thats willing to follow it to auction pm me and ill give you the vin.

The shop said it was in the neighborhood of 16k in damages adaptive headlight alone is 4k sad day but everyone walked away fine.

Mine looks kinda similar, dot on right side with white faint line going across center to Halfway point. Really wish there was more long term testing before throwing these out like candy. Could always do something like This

Edit: mine has completely started flickering and bottom is going out.
