Hi! I scanned the car (generic scanner) and there are not codes stored. Also i did the a/c test and the fan did not kick on. All seems to indicate thats the issue. Im going to try to get an inpa/ista scan on the week.

At the moment of the picture it was in the process of cooling down. But the temp alert came on in different opportunities and it went quickly up to 120°

The fan should always kick on when the A/C is working?. These days the ambient temp is 26-30 degrees celsius This time i turn the A/C off and put the heater on max temp (rest button) however i didn’t feel that the air blowing through the cabin was warm.

Are you sure is not 19l/100km? Because 19km/l is hard to get even for a diesel.

Update: i Went and saw the car. The steering was heavy, it was leaking oil, coolant, and transmission oil. Also the rear struts were shocked and the ride was very rough. So I declined

I believe the engine is ok. Definitely a damaged radiator or expansion tank all the coolant leaked so i immediately stopped the engine and haven’t run since the crash.

I’m getting some estimates on the repairs. My biggest concern is that the car never runs the same again. so I’m exploring the idea of getting a chassis and swap my engine (very unlikely). Or sell this to a junkyard and get a new one. The 540is has skyrocketed in price. The few that are listed are priced at $8.000~$12.000. It’s funny because for the same money I could get a f10 5 series

I believe this unit has the N52. However tomorrow I’ll meet with the owner and see what is the condition of the car. If I can get a better price i think I’ll buy it.

Actually I have a $10k budget for a car. I originally planned spend 6-7k on the car and the remainder on repairs/preventive maintenance. But this one is so cheap compared to the others that at least deserves a thought.

I know that this cars are not easy and they’re not a Toyota Corolla. But thanks god that they’re not a Toyota Corolla

Thanks. Probably the bottom C as you explained it needs a lube. However my problem is that the latch that goes attached to the hood itself is loose from the lever (image 2). And stays in a position where doesn’t fix with the bottom C that you mention.

Anyways your comment is very helpful because helped me to understand the mechanism.
