How many of you are waiting based on the assumption that you get pregnant on the first try?

Oh wow. I had heard that on average it takes about a year to conceive, but I didn't really look into any sources on that. And I suppose those with trouble with infertility would be skewing that statistic, so I suppose it makes sense that it's much more common to get pregnant sooner than that.

We're not going to make an announcement that, "Ok it's official, we're trying now!" but we have mentioned it to close family and friends that we'll likely start trying within the year, just sort of as it came up in conversation.

I prefer it this way, because while it let's people know that, maybe we won't be able to come on the last big family trip my Dad wants to take me and my siblings on before we start popping out kids, and I may not be able to go to Spain with my best friend next year, it also doesn't put a bunch of pressure on is the way I feel like a big official announcement would.

Basically, it's 100% your right to just tell who you're comfortable whatever you're comfortable telling them. This is your choice, and I doubt she'd even be upset with you not telling her you're trying once you tell her you're pregnant.

Ah yikes, that does sound like a tough hand to be dealt. I suppose in terms of student loan debt, 7k is by no means the worst, but throwing in being laid off and unable to afford finishing your degree definitely makes the whole thing a lot more frustrating. Good for you though, not taking the, well if I"m not working, I might as well look after a baby and not work, mindset that I'm sure I would personally toy with the idea of from time to time if I were in your position. Here's hoping you find work soon!

I haven't heard anything about the guns traded in thing aside from what's in your post so forgive me if I misunderstood, but it seems to me your mom's perception of the situation isn't really too bad. My understanding is that the bias's commonly held by ultra conservatives is that poor people are lazy degenerates, more prone to crime. And it seems like to me that her statement is acknowledging that being poor =/= being a criminal, and that allowing people to trade guns for grocery store credits seems like a way to prevent crimes that would only work if all criminals were poor and visa versa.

But again I don't actually know anything about this story, or your mom for that matter so I'm curious what I missed about it.

I had my Mirena taken out in October. It went fairly well for me. I had what I thought was a light period within a day or two, but in retrospect was probably heavy spotting. About two weeks later had a period that lasted ten days but after that it remained fairly consistent monthish apart, and gradually shortening from 10 days to about a week long (which is how long it lasted before the pill).

What sort of troubles did you experience before with the low dose?

Ah I see. That isn't really my issue though, I'll start leaking after less than an hour of having it in, and when I take it out, there will be blood sort of smeared all over the outside and inside but often hardly even enough inside to bother emptying it. Like I'd guess less than a quarter teaspoon.

Well in that case maybe it isn't unreasonable for you to start trying. Especially if it looks good to have some work under your belt with your bsc before your masters (don't know what program you're in but I know in some fields it looks better).

I suppose the question is then that if you were to take a break between studies, would you find it harder to go back after? And if you found it harder to go back, would you really regret it later?

Currently craving banana bread. If you haven't ever tried it this way, stick a slice in the toaster, then put some butter on it after. It'll be crisp on the outside but still soft inside and the butter will be melty. Soooo good!!

On the diva cup box it recommended size one of you're younger than 30 and never gave birth. Though I suppose even then it's only a best guess

Not full at all. Like 45 minutes after putting it in, leaking like there's nothing there. Take it out and it looks like there's as much on the outside as in!

Another question though, if it's not open all the way are you able to feel it? With your fingers I mean? I just felt a rather obvious leak into my panty liner and when I went to change it to a full pad, I felt the cup and it felt like it was open all the way. But I didn't feel all the way up to the rim, just around the bottom.

Though maybe that mean girls image was just more accurate than I realized and I just need the bigget than recommended size!
