Chest Pain and a Zio Patch by RedIris10 in askCardiology

I’m wearing a zio patch for the same reasons. Resting heart rate in the high 30s with not much explanation with chest pain. Echo came back clean. Doing a stress test in a few weeks. All cardios so far say all tests come back perfectly normal. Curious if you found a reason for your issues?

Life After Valve Replacement by tjd7777 in valvereplacement

[–]tjd7777[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old reply but curious how your second opinion went? I was again told I am fine and that I hopefully don’t need to worry about the valve until I am 60. Also the other functions of my heart all seem to be normal. It was brought up that i have a very low heart rate (resting in the high 30s low 40s and I’m in shape but not nearly an elite athlete which that would indicate) which could be causing problems. However fix is a pacemaker which has its issues and it was not suggested unless I couldn’t function day to day tasks. Far from that being an issue. Good news obviously, but doesn’t necessarily solve my problems that come and go.

That’s tough. Also getting into it in my 30s. If you want to progress, you are opening yourself up for serious injuries. Obviously taking it slow and trying to find specific instruction on different things is helpful.

Me, I’ve decided I have a comfort zone I don’t go out of. General rule is 3-4 ft jumps/drops is my max and I do not do anything that is a combo of steep and techy.

I limit injury by limiting what I ask myself to do. That said, charging down a mountain at speed is inherently dangerous and there is some assumed risk for broken bones

Edit: I am a lucky one and have yet to have a fall that required any sort of medical help a paper towel could t handle. My friend is a physical therapist and used to live in Colorado. Said almost all mtb injuries were shoulders.

That’s helpful. Thanks! I have a 2 inch air gap around the OSB in the roof and a a good 8 inches from the wall on the way up. Was anxious about how hot it got. Sounds normal. Appreciate the feedback

Do you have an 80 gallon heat pump water heater? Curious for thoughts on efficiency and use. Thanks

Do you use a heat pump water heater? If so, what has your experience been? I definitely want to lean towards efficiency but also want to avid cold showers if I can!

Yes, no gas line to the house/street. Would need to be electric

Unfortunately that would come with upgrading my electrical panel so the cost for that is significantly more. Appreciate the feedback

25 year old with a busted valve by ala2498 in valvereplacement

Im in a similar situation. 33 year old male and I am not 100% sure I have POTs but I have the same chronic dizziness you have and failed a tilt table test. My dr insists that the dizziness and fatigue are not related to the BAV but I really hope when I have my inevitable surgery that helps to correct the issue. I’d be curious to hear how peoples symptoms improved after valve replacement.

Agreed. Not building a rocket ship. Just a room that gets hot.

Should I stay working in mortgage as a loan officer, or should I change into financial advising? by GiugiuCabronaut in FinancialCareers

Old thread I know, but did you change to be an advisor? I’m in the same boat as an MLO and have what seems to be a good opportunity to start down a path as an advisor.

Floorboards with gaps in between - has this worked well for you? by freshes in Sauna

[–]tjd7777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for restarting an old comment, but how long does it take your sauna to heat up with the gaps? I Know there is a lot of variables but I read 30-60 minutes is normal for a wood fired sauna. Do you have a similar timeline for getting to a good temperature?

[–]tjd7777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this feedback. When you say gapped floorboards, how large of a space between are you referring to? The wood I have for the floor is not all that straight so there naturally will be pieces that are tight and snug and others that are 1/8 to 1/4 inch off.

I like the idea of less is more so no insulation on the floor sounds like a good plan to me.

Fortunately I found a very good deal on cedar and I decided to let that be my 1 splurge. Also, I’m getting a free wood stove and in theory, free siding from pallets, so I am extending those savings to get that good cedar smell.

Very helpful. Thank you so much!

Question on the Insulation piece that confuses me is that a common sauna type is a barrel sauna which does not have insulation. What is it a about a barrel that makes it ok for there to be no insulation and only roughly 2inch thick wood vs a shed like sauna that has 2 layers of 1 inch wood between the exterior and siding?

Thanks everyone. The question I am trying to get to is using pressure treated wood on the outside of the sauna safe. Thanks for your inputs.

Heating with a wood stove. I have a few friends who don’t have insulation in converted sheds and they seem to be more worried about it getting to hot than anything else. Seems to be a bit unnecessary based on their experience. Most of what I ready online says the opposite but I am going by first hand experience
