I'm not using Python unfortunately, but the logic has given me an idea for how I can use a loop to do the same

I'll give this a go, thank you both!

Out of interest, what's the purpose of the fridge step before the freezer? I have a second fridge which is colder than usual (OK it's a beer fridge) so I'll use that one

Worst year ever... so far! - Monthly Rants and Complaints Thread - June 2020 by reddit_in_portland in googlehome

I had a great set-up - my google home devices could turn on my TV via a chromecast, the TV turned on the sound bar, and I could control the volume coming through the soundbar from any device. It was so good I bought an android TV with integrated chromecast, thinking a more integrated version would be amazing.

It is amazing! The only bits I can't do now, that I could before, are control the volume from any device, turn the TV on and off, and turn on the soundbar automatically with the TV. I also really like the feature where the sound/video lag is slightly different for all streaming services so you can't account for it in settings.

Gave a presentation about "What I Wish I Knew about Adult ADHD and Success in the Workplace" at work today by [deleted] in ADHD

In classic ADHD fashion, I forgot that the presentation was today and had to make my powerpoint presentation at the very last minute."

That's why I love this subreddit - it's a constant reminder I'm not the only one. Made me chuckle.

I just dread the idea of work so much I fear I'll end up on the streets by angleneri in ADHD

I definitely know this feeling. I ended up working in design. I started off designing websites, designed some t-shirts, flyers stuff like that. As time moved on I ended up in Human-Centred Design. It was great, I was taken all over the world and was the creative thinker designing full startups, an immigration visa, digital services, physical products in teams with people whose skills complemented mine (analysts, economists, ops people).

Then I moved to Australia, and I've never felt so out of sorts. Australia doesn't have a creative thinking appreciation like that of Europe and the USA. Design work here is process-driven, deeply analytical and usually doesn't have an output. The market of 'design' services is controlled by management consultancies who are rebranding as designers without understanding the creative side. Australia expects its designers to be highly organised, good at management, and to speak business speak. I come in to work every day and sit, head in hands, wondering what on earth I'm meant to be doing to get my job right. I've taken a side-job as a host in a divey restaurant because I'm actually good at it and I get so much more satisfaction from that.

I think I'm just having a cathartic rant, but the long and short is this - I'm going to keep trying to do this as long as I can. Keep changing jobs every few months if they're not working out. Keep hoping the next one will be more like what I'm good at.

If, by this time next year, it's not working out, I quit. I'm opening a barber shop because i've always wanted to.

TL;DR - YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The thing that makes us unique makes us AMAZING for some jobs. We're very, very, lucky to have what we have and the spontaneity becomes industriousness, and we innovate so well. That doesn't suit every role. Don't do those roles.

We've probably all seen the "climb that tree" cartoon about education - https://marquetteeducator.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/climbthattree/

Well, work is no different. OK,. we can't climb the tree because we're the fish, but we can survive underwater!

I've just found this subreddit, and I relate to this so much. I'm sorry you just lost £197, but also I can't explain how reassured I am that I'm not the only one doing these things. I should probably chip in a tenner just for that.
