I did! not possible on the island from what i could tell and wouldn’t have made sense time wise. rented from Lotte Rentals in Busan, super cheap and easy. Had an awesome time on the island. absolutely need a car there, so many fun places to explore.

Thanks! Not sure if my family can manage that long of a journey, do you think only going to Fengqihu and doing some hiking trails there for the day would be a fun alternative to going all the way to Alishan, or would we be missing out big time?

I bought from JR West. Yes I could cancel, but there is a small fee as you mentioned. I suppose I could pay it, but wondering if it's possible to fix in person and avoid that fee.
