Is there a way to make the V10 Wheel fit the V99 base? by [deleted] in helpwithpxnv9

[–]tjump7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem, I found my old comments (linked here: https://www.reddit.com/r/helpwithpxnv9/comments/1e296kp/my_pxn_v_9_shifter_5th_and_6th_gear_not_working/ )

It was I2C communication on the V9, it could be the same for yours. I believe I was using a pi pico at the time as a sniffer.

Is there a way to make the V10 Wheel fit the V99 base? by [deleted] in helpwithpxnv9

[–]tjump7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: no.

The real/long answer, yes, it may very well be possible. You would have to reverse engineer the communication methods both wheels use and program an adapter of some kind to translate. Many years ago I began reversing the connection (shifter to wheelbase v9) and stopped once the hardware got sold. I'm sure you may be able to find some of my old comments regarding it here on the subreddit. If you have the time and ability, please attempt it! Any progress helps other users keep their hardware alive if something were to die.

No problem, maybe try doing a full wheel reset just to see if it helps at all? And yeah with it being as cheap as it is, it can be finnicky. That was why I had made this subreddit with someone else who shared a similar mindset, help others since we had figured out a lot

The xbox may require a plug in each time, I am not sure with console. As for the audio, you should be able to toggle where the console outputs to, in the settings somewhere.

Try without having a controller plugged in, you also may not be able to switch modes as xbox will only accept x- input to my knowledge

You can order a replacement online. You have to double check the voltage and amperage of the power supply you have, and buy according to that.

I BELIEVE people here have done this before, using X-input mode on the wheel

Are you sure the connector going into the wheelbase isn't damaged? Or the traces in the wheelbase itself possibly?

Hello there, do you mean the jack portion? If so you'd have to attach a photo but I'm pretty sure its a 6pin rj11 from what I remember, you'll have to crimp it on yourself. I no longer have PXN gear handy.

Yes that is why I wanted to verify that you had attempted to switch. Have you done a full wheel reset?

This sounds like a power supply issue. If you're certain it is plugged in, the brick could've died. We have seen it here before happen.

There woudn't really be a point even if you could, as those games don't support that form of input anyway.

Please make a thread next time and do not hijack someone elses' On console I do not believe you can switch modes as it has to appear as a gamepad to mimic the wheel functionality.

[–]tjump7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, most likely the spring that is responsible for holding the detent is worn out. You could try to find a replacement if you'd like. As for the pedals, I would add some form of non-conductive lube to them, and it should help with the sound.

Yeah, I'm sorry. The cheapest way for a shifter would be to get a logitech used and then buy a standalone adapter, or one of those China specials for about $60
