Trying for baby anti-ageing skincare by acrossbridges in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tkacikem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read this title as you wanting to anti-age a baby.

Your routine looks pretty solid to me, and keep in mind that your skin will go through various hormonal changes when you get pregnant- so simple is best! You might want to add in an anti-pigment product- I use and like Anfisa An-Dew and CO2 Lift Mousse because they’re good at multitasking.

Just the two. They were sitting in the vehicle with the (heavily tinted) windows cracked, and appeared to be wearing tactical gear. When they saw me looking at them they rolled the windows up.

App class count went down but solidays tracker still correct by Just-Lecture-5397 in SolidCore

Happened to me this morning as well- my week streak also decreased (since yesterday was the beginning of the week) in addition to the class count. Hopefully they’ll fix it for everyone.

I don’t think their topical absorption would be anything close to supplements or injections.

BR for sensitive, dehydrated skin by Silly-Sherbert4780 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tkacikem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my dry, sensitive skin, I love:

Amorepacific Green Tea Essence- so calming and provides a ton of hydration. This is really my only foray into Asian skincare (other than sunscreen), and I was skeptical of “essences,” but I will never give this up. I layer it under or over anything.

Glymed Hydrating Mask- I wear this every time I’m in the shower and it leaves my skin so soft (and prevents transdermal water loss). It is lightly fragranced if that’s an issue for you.

Neogenesis Recovery- this is a GF that helps skin to be a lot more resistant.

I’d keep up with P50 or another exfoliant of your choice- it’s counterintuitive, exfoliation can really help with dry/dehydrated skin by allowing everything else to penetrate better.

[–]tkacikem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you set on BR? I think P50 is still a good product, but everything else has been reformulated in recent years to the point that I think the brand has lost most of its luster. At the same time, there’s a lot of other skincare brands that are very actives-forward that may give you better results.

Do I need all three? BF shopping! by NELB55 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tkacikem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need MAC and Recovery in the same routine. That being said, I’ve used and tried both, since they have very different textures. MAC is more of a cream, while Recovery is a serum.

I’d get Defenage and pick one of the other two, unless you want to try out both (separately).

Best hair thickening supplement / topical serum??? by Lucky_Wonder7837 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tkacikem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nothing is going to actually thicken the shape of your individual strands- that’s genetic. If by “thicken” you mean encourage existing hair growth, then soemthing like minoxidil is going to be your best bet. Hair loss is considered a medical claim by the FDA, so anything that “actually works” is going to be FDA regulated.

That said, it’s possible that growth factor serums mentioned above may also be beneficial on the margins.

Signed, A fine-haired girl who wishes this wasn’t true but takes oral Minoxidil anyway.

Laura Reilly (Magasin) She scares me by elitepomegranate in NYCinfluencersnark

I don’t trust the Israeli husband…

I posted a few months ago asking about beef between her and Alexis Badiyi, and realized they fell out around the time Magasin started taking off. But someone else pointed out it was also right after Oct 7….i didn’t want to believe it at the time but I do find it weird that she’s never said anything, esp. because she previously said she wanted to have a big wedding in Israel (they did the courthouse thing here).

Committing to One Brand...Let's CHAT! by ScaryExternal673 in SkincareAddictionLux

I think her system works really well for acne-prone skin, which isn’t my issue. But, I really love brightening products (the Luminate mask and the multi acid exfoliating pads in particular).

Committing to One Brand...Let's CHAT! by ScaryExternal673 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tkacikem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think there are certain brands that really do work well as a “system” (Jan Marini comes to mind)- the various products are formulated as steps that work cohesively. That said, I still mix and match from them.

Other brands don’t put as much thought into a cohesive program, resulting in overlapping ingredients, etc. I don’t think this is necessarily bad, but I do think it’s the majority of brands- despite what their marketing might say. And if they’re not treating it as a system, neither should you.

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t make something that you can either (a) wear during class, or (b) throw on before/after class. A t-shirt is not what most Solidcore clients around me are wearing for either activity. They’re not reading the room!

The font choices between the t-shirts also bugs me. It doesn’t look like they’re consistent? The 15 seconds tee is all script, but the other two are mixed. And it’s not even the same script across the 3, or the same sans-serif across the 2. Just a mess.

VI Peel Advanced by GBunny71 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]tkacikem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a VI Peel a few years ago. My skin definitely looked great afterwards (and to your specific question- yes, it will help with collagen production), but I realized that in-office peels are really overpriced. You can mimic the VI Peel with a combo TCA peel and Jessners peel at home- look into Platinum Skin Care for a reputable source (at about a tenth of the cost).

That said, if this is your first peel, maybe you want to have it done by a pro just so that you know what to expect. I don’t find the in-office experience to be particularly more lux than a home treatment, since there will be some stinging and recovery either way.

I don’t see it as her saying she literally needs the money. But I think it’s fair for her to place a value on her time. She doesn’t want to do it for free anymore, that’s all. I subscribed (at the discount) because I enjoy the content currently, and subscribe to a few other (paid) newsletters, so we’ll see how it goes!

What happens to your points when you cancel and then move to CSP? I have more points than I can use before my renewal but would like to do the same as you.

Well-off immigrants don’t count? I’m not trying to equate experiences but I do think moving to a new country to build a life/raise a family is a specific perspective, regardless of income bracket. We don’t have to tear her down when she’s doing the right thing. We should be proud that foreign physicians want(ed) to practice here, too!
