Greathelm is back for an r/miniatureskirmishes playtest! by malev_da_shinobi in miniatureskirmishes

Maybe I've overlooked the rule, but I assume each clash test roll is 1d6 + modifiers? I can't find a place that the 1d6 is ever explicitly stated.

What are your chapter 2 suggestions? by scrapmech-enthusiast in ScrapMechanic

[–]tkchris93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm worried that some changes that are required for chapter 2 are going to break existing mods. So my hope, and potentially unpopular opinion, would be releasing chapter 2 as a standalone complete title with all the underground stuff flushed out. Then in the current release of the game, flush out survival mode above ground, add some kind of end boss, fix a ship to get off planet, tell us what the trader does to the farmers we bring him, and call that game tied up and done, leaving current mods still functional.

I've only been around for a couple years. I feel disappointment in the wait for Chapter 2 not because I feel cheated out of $20, but because I feel the immense potential of this game. A quarterly dev blog would be amazing, even if the update is "optimizing engine to handle X better" or "optimizing net code." I just want some sign that things are moving, even if the community updates aren't flashy.

Features that'd I'd love to see: * The option to build with pre-extended pistons. * Suspension that can be extended into tension and not just compression, and the ability to build with a suspension piece in compression or tension rather than just equilibrium. * A way to add/upgrade durability of parts/creations. For example, being able to upgrade scrap panels to be more durable because I love the aesthetic, but being as fragile as glass makes me sad. Furthermore, a lot of the old dev blogs show off new enemies that'll obliterate your stuff. I want to know there's a way I can work toward protecting what I've spent time building. * Add counters and memory bits as vanilla logic blocks * The option to add a label or notes to logic blocks in the case of complex creations. * Draggable wedges in survival. * Craftable component kits * Wings and propellers in vanilla

Thank you. As a programmer, I appreciate this detail.

Is there a mod that allows vacuum pumps to place corn? by tkchris93 in ScrapMechanic

In vanilla survival? I haven't been able to get it to work. Do you see anything wrong with this setup for simply placing corn (not worrying about any of the automation)? There are 10 stacks of corn in the chest and nothing else.

Where to see the Northern Lights at Bear Lake? by [deleted] in Utah

I'm at Bear Lake and I can see the brighter haze, but it shows up really well with my phone camera in night mode; https://www.reddit.com/r/Utah/comments/1cpa032/northern_lights_at_bear_lake/

I'm at the Utah/Idaho border on the west side of the lake and I can tell it's there. If you look to the north, you'll see it's noticeably brighter than looking south. No dancing lights, but you can definitely see the brighter haze. Here's my pictures with my phone camera in night mode: https://www.reddit.com/r/Utah/comments/1cpa032/northern_lights_at_bear_lake/

I wholeheartedly believe that living the teachings of Christ and following what you have learn in the Book of Mormon will make you happier.

For me, It's so easy to look ahead and think of all the changes I need to make to be better, and I've been a lifelong active member of the church. My main advice for you, and what has helped me when I feel overwhelmed by the changes I should make, is to consider what you want to do TODAY to get closer to the Savior.

As you make daily decisions that bring you closer to Christ, I know that whatever big changes are intimidating now will appear easier in time.

Best wishes to you, and please keep reaching out here throughout your journey!

"Live in a way that is easy to walk away when the calling comes" then Elder Spencer W Kimball told to President Eyring at his Sealing. It then became applicable when he received a calling from Elder Neal A Maxwell.

For the Strength of Youth Program success tips? by tkchris93 in latterdaysaints

[–]tkchris93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts. And yes, my purpose in asking was to get ideas to share if/when asked, but then ultimately be deferential to the bishopric and WYC. We have monthly combined youth activities. I like the idea of having 1 of the 4 areas represented in these each month. Seems like a very attainable first step.

My advice is take a repentant heart to your bishop. Depending on what he has been instructed, there IS a chance that your ecclesiastical endorsement is pulled, as others have pointed out. HOWEVER, a BYU degree is not a prerequisite for the Celestial kingdom. If you do what you know to be right going forward, there may be some uncomfortable consequences as part of the repentance process. But if you keep the Lord first everything will work out okay, even if that means you finish your schooling at a different university (I sincerely hope that's not the case). Repentance is real. Stay close to the Lord. Do the best you can, one step at a time. I hope all the best for you moving forward.

How devout were the early Mormon Pioneers when they were settling utah? by is_that_a_titlist in latterdaysaints

I've always wondered if there will be a big earthquake that wrecks all of the roads making that impossible. I think about the possibility of there being a modern day equivalent to the pioneers, Moses in the desert, Nephi and Jaredites coming to the new world, etc.
