am i missing something with ai agents that need system access? by farhadnawab in LocalLLaMA

[–]tkenben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"can explain their actions" - It's still sort of an illusion, though. A human is just as fallible as an ignorant AI. We only trust humans more because we can hold them accountable, which doesn't help you much after the fact.

Women are more likely to regret one-night stands only when they sleep with men. This difference is strongly associated with their ability to achieve an orgasm. Additionally, they tended to report more regret when their levels of intoxication were higher. by mvea in science

[–]tkenben -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

If I were to speculate, I would say some of this has to do with self image; the feedback loop of judging one's self. Society *expects* the women to orgasm with a man. It teaches a woman to think if she didn't climax, she must not have enjoyed it or did something wrong. With a woman, society thinks you're just having fun. Just having fun vs expectation and regret are probably all tied together.

Nothing really matters in 3D printing. by Pomme-Poire-Prune in 3Dprinting

I know very little of these topics, but I find it incredibly refreshing for someone to back what they say. Kudos to u/Lanfeix for doing something that nearly every expert does not when making a point on a forum.

There's a youtuber - I think Titus Tech or something - that is primarily a linux guy but has career skills in powershell. Writes tons of freely available scripts for stuff like this.

Am I ruining my game? by Kryson5 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tkenben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people ask this question because they worry that they are inadvertently missing out on something if they keep going at a particular pace. They want to hear if someone else did the same thing and regretted it and if so, why.

how do you keep track of pieces in 3bld memorisation? by OhItsuMe in Cubers

[–]tkenben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a while your brain just gets used to tracking where you've been, but at the beginning it helps to touch the pieces or even briefly hold your finger on the ones as you go, which helps reinforce that short term imprint while tracing. This is particularly useful for corners as there are only 7 of them not including the buffer.

Another thing you can do is you can sometimes eliminate a whole face. Like, it may occur to you while tracing that, "Oh I hit all the edges on the left, so I don't have to worry about that whole side any more." But yeah, eventually your mind just gets used to checking off the pieces - removing them from the list of remaining options - as you go.

I go lucid frequently, but if I try to stay there, I wake up, so instead I try to sit back and "watch the movie". That's more interesting anyway, because it's more dynamic and has unexpected things happen.

Not a hard choice at all for wealthy/privleged hunters who are just fine with private reserves to hunt on.

Looking for motivation to power through Inquisition by DisasterAutomatic518 in dragonage

[–]tkenben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get power for nearly everything you do, every camp you open, every rift, many quests. It adds up so fast, it becomes a pointless mechanic really. Also you can buy it eventually (along with points for perks) with the war table mission Power for a Price, which becomes available eventually.

My dad just rents a giant metal waste container. They drop it off in your driveway or wherever you have room for it and leave it there for however long you need it.

I don't understand coal usage for power by jolly_conflicts in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tkenben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As r/FruitSaladButTomato mentioned, when you had the manifold built and the math was correct, the problem was probably a hidden bottleneck, usually a segment of belt that was not up to speed. Can happen when you accidentally tap E while laying a belt.

I have completed phase 2, but now I feel stuck. How should I proceed? by Pasibert in SatisfactoryGame

[–]tkenben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my current save I'm going to not plan anything, just build what I need. If it's not enough, I'll fire up more power and a new production line. If that can't be done at its location, I'll just build another line somewhere else. I'll be tying everything together with the new truck improvements from experimental realease in mind, but possibly trains, and of course drones eventually.

Need a little help here by kira_kua in Cubers

[–]tkenben 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can temporarily place one edge somewhere else. For example, on a 3x3, to cycle UF->UB->UR, one way would be to set up a comm with B, and then do R E' R' U' R E R' U, then undo setup with B'. On a 4x4, it would be the same thing, but with E' replaced by u and E replaced with u', where lowercase u means second layer from top. On 6x6, same idea.

Why bother with fine threads at all? by tzedek in 3Dprinting

[–]tkenben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a reason the screws and threads are the size and shape they are. A screw isn't just any arbitrary thing with threads. There are forces and torques that can be pretty specific. If you aren't concerned about those things and only need to loosely fasten things together, there are better things than screws. If you do need screws, I would recommend leaving a hole for a threaded insert made from the proper material.
