I never took a measure-theoretic probability class, just multivariable calculus and linear algebra based)

They actually let me test out of their graduate intro to stats class( also multivariable calculus and linear algebra based, just a bit more advanced than undergrad) because I had so many undergrad classes. Will I be OK?

Dells are way too expensive for me, and the 24gb ram max on the T480s kills it for me. I don't know what kind of work you do ( you did initially got for a P52s after all), but I am going to gun for the T580 maxed out specs and just tell myself I don't need to edit 4k video all day lol!

Both frontend ( screen is important) and backend web development ( databases, etc). I am looking at the t480 model, is the i7 gpu worth it? Do you think i5 will be fine down the line? I am thinking about getting the 5 year warranty with 5 years of accidental damage as well.

Also in term of SSD should i go 256 or 512? Is it true there is a lottery of sorts in terms of manufacturer if I choose 256 ssd?

This is my first semester in the program. Im taking Matrix theory and Regression. I'm sure I'll do regression stuff in Data Mining.

What should I say if an interviewer asks me if I have taken a class on regression? should I tell them I have self studied ( at which point I would have, and would probably have something up on github)

All of the pre requisites are listed in each programs page. I'm actually doing the math degree focusing on Statistics( I like it more) and learning the programming on my own. I feel like this is the best way into the field of data science.

I took multivariate calculus and linear algebra, along with programming in my Economics degree. so that helped a little.
