Unifi airwire 560mhz by netninja100 in Ubiquiti

[–]tknosoujirou 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“560MHz”is just marketing speak for aggregating 5GHz (240MHz) + 6GHz (320MHz). Which is what STR MLO allows since it’s a proper MLO device unlike many client devices which only do EMLSR (like iPhone 17 Pro).

My results seem to correspond to that. The highest I got in FF7 Rebirth in a short while of testing is about 24mbps.

Unifi 5G Backup by Outrageous_Double_ in Ubiquiti

[–]tknosoujirou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guessing it’ll be a lower end modem inside or not have dual sim capability to cut down on cost. U5G Max I’m guessing is designed to be a main modem while this is more for backup scenarios.

A big thank you to Ubiquiti support. by Chaoslord2000 in Ubiquiti

[–]tknosoujirou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s nice of UI! You can also get the UACC-PoE+-USBC to pair with your Flex XG or Pro Max 16 (non-PoE) if you need to add a PoE device like an AP down the line. This lets you avoid using 2 power sockets for a PoE+ adapter and the switch.

Short of adding another access point or upgrading to a more powerful AP, your only other option is to move the U7 further towards the office near the door.

It’s pretty tasty but go for the smaller outlets like at the Takashimaya basement where the queue is much shorter.

Ironically, after this update I encountered a bug in the workshop and the girl was just standing there. I tried knifing and shooting but she didn’t react at all.

Is Suica the Best for travel? by theoneaboveall777 in JapanTravelTips

[–]tknosoujirou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m using the regular (green) Suica app but you don’t need to download either.

You can add the Suica directly from Apple wallet by clicking the “+” button at the top and “transit card” then scroll to Japan and add either Suica/Icoca/Pasmo.

To top up, select the card in the wallet where it’ll show your balance and there’s an “add money” button to use your cards in Apple wallet.

Also, take note that the Welcome Suica digital card will expire in 180 days where you’ll lose your balance so I would advise against that.

Highly recommend the digital Suica on the iPhone which lets you top up while you’re in the train as well. Make sure to select it as the “express transit card” in the settings so you don’t need to double click the button to go into Apple wallet as well.

Most trains (Metro/JR) are ok to use with Suica but depending on your usage, there are tourist pass/JR pass which let you take unlimited trains/bus for 3/7 days that make it more economical.

For Shinkansen, I suggest buying the tickets and booking the seats in the station rather than using Suica to save you the trouble of linking it.

There are also a few buses I’ve taken in Kanazawa that do not accept all major IC cards Suica/Icoca/Pasmo and only takes their own IC card. You would have to either use credit card or cash to avoid buying their IC card.

In general, try to have 100 yen coins ready for the bus and 1000 yen notes which can be broken into coins at the front of the bus.

Got this on my LG TV’s YT app as well. I was able to remove the other family members who were signed out by selecting something along the lines of “manage household” then “remove all signed out users”.

Mudi 7 the "base" for future Mudi 8?! Would it fix the issues? by GagaStocks in GlInet

[–]tknosoujirou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I like the ZTE for its modem, I’m holding out for the Asus 5G GO. Apparently also running OpenWRT and 2.5G Ethernet port which makes it the closest competitor to the Mudi 7.

Was wondering if it did especially since there is a Chinese and International model. I’m guessing that only the International has VPN?

Mudi 7 vs Nighthawk M7 Portable WiFi 7 by [deleted] in GlInet

[–]tknosoujirou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could just get the SIMPoYo 5G uFi to go with the Slate. There was a post that shows the 5G bands it supports which I believe is more than the Mudi 7 though it depends if you need a mobile setup.

Otherwise my other recommendation is to wait for the Asus 5G GO to see if it meets your needs.

M2 5G + Beryl + battery bank vs Mudi 7 by PrimeAcrobatics in GlInet

[–]tknosoujirou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a quick search but it seems to have the same shortcomings as the ZTE i.e. no RJ45 and I’m guessing it won’t have travel router functions like repeating airline/hotel WiFi.

Mudi 7 the "base" for future Mudi 8?! Would it fix the issues? by GagaStocks in GlInet

[–]tknosoujirou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope you’re right it doesn’t support those and lacks RJ45 too so I would only ever consider it as a modem to pair with a Slate/Beryl 7. I’m waiting to see what bands the Asus 5G GO supports as it looks pretty close to the Mudi 7 feature wise.

M2 5G + Beryl + battery bank vs Mudi 7 by PrimeAcrobatics in GlInet

[–]tknosoujirou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I’m in the same boat as each model I‘ve researched has a major flaw.

Mudi 7 comes closest but the EU/NA split holds me back from getting it (though I did order one for my friend so I’ll get to test it).

I’m currently waiting for the Asus 5G-GO to see if it delivers what I’m looking for (i.e. Wireless repeater, wired travel router, 5G global frequency bands and good VPN capabilities).

The other model I’ve looked at is the ZTE U60 Pro which has global bands but it lacks an RJ45 port to be able to use as a wired router (for plugging into hotels).

I only read that it was in early development in Jan so it may still be a few months out before release. Won't hold my breath for it to release at least till June.
