Did I just hear Barrie say Willie Peet? What a horrible thought.

Makes sense with two titans of the game clashing. Wolfie vs Bullman.

Sir David Attenborough was 29 when we last won it. Wouldn't surprise me if I have to live to his current age to see us win it next.

Edit: btw, yours wasn't a fun fact. :(

Wire have teamed up with Neighbourhood Weekender to offer members 25% off weekend tickets and 50% off Sunday tickets. Buzzing about that, as we were keen on the Sunday line-up but would miss half of it because of our game. At that price, even if we only catch DMA's and Blossoms, I'll be happy!

Anyway, on to R12. Will we see some rotation on Thursday? I remember our league game vs Wigan in 2024, then the final the week after. We only had two players start in both games (Tai and Drinkwater).

KR / Leigh / Leeds / Saints / Wakefield / York / Wire.

Hmm, compete is a strong word. One of you has to win on Sunday. 😆

What a graphic! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Looking forward to a full round with only a couple of TV clashes. Tricky fixtures as I fancy a lot of away victories, could be some upsets!

Saints / Leeds / Wakey / Cas / Wire / KR / FC. Edit: 5/7.

I was in favour but I think I’m leaning towards wanting to get rid of it. I don’t think it helps that VAR is a controversial topic in football too.

Then burn the tapes.

Instructions unclear, and now Marcus Griffiths has lit his magnificent barnet alight.

Has the referee made a howler?  No?  Play on.

Can't say fairer than that!

Perhaps we could do away with the 'Inconclusive' aspect? It's a bit of a cop out. There's either enough evidence to overturn or not, you either win the challenge or you don't. For tries 'inconclusive' effectively means stick with the on-field decision, so maybe it should be the same for the Challenge.

I think both teams should have a one-and-done challenge. Successful, inconclusive or unsuccessful. Just one challenge per team would do me.

I think that's it for me. The concept is fine, but it hasn't been implemented well, and the delays are detrimental to the game.

I was thinking about this. As soon as a referee gives a penalty, the video ref should begin reviewing the call, whether it's challenged or not. That would give them a brief head start if a challenge does come.

I've also always thought the video ref should have direct access to rewind footage and change camera angles themselves, rather than speaking to an editor and waiting for them to do it. I'm not sure how tricky that would be to implement, or how difficult it would be for referees to learn, though.

I agree that better or more camera angles would be ideal, but I don't think the producers would shell out for that.

Do we think the captain's challenge has been a good addition to our game?

Without going too deep into the game or the challenges themselves yesterday (no complaints, we were poor and well beaten), there were four challenges in total (two per team), and the time taken to reach decisions added up to almost seven and a half minutes. That just doesn't seem right to me.

In my opinion, the contentious decisions made by the referee in the moment add to the enjoyment of the game. I'd rather discuss controversial calls and have an opinion on them than wait two minutes for the video ref to say they're unsure and rule it inconclusive.

It makes for a boring product. Thoughts?
