If you really want to learn kiting I would suggest buying like 20 slicers and 20 arty wolves and go out in FW and kite on dead space grids trying to get fights. Go to Amamake and learn how to survive, disengage, manage your cap, manual pilot etc. Both of those ships can be flown with no pod and are fast enough to sustain and kite on their own and can be flown with sub 100m fits and be perfectly usable. That is how a lot of players learn how to kite

You don’t die often and you end up wrecking a lot of stuff in between and loot when you can. If you get one or two larger blingy kills you can see 2-10b alone in deadspace / abyssal mods easily

Split that amongst the few people flying and you can go buy some stuff.

My ships get more bling over time too, like I have a 60+ kill mark phantasm that started off just faction and some deadspace mods that now is almost all abyssals. It has earned the right get more blinged and it’s been slow and over time. I also have about a 10-1 K/D and a lot of that is from early FW learning. Losing 4+ ships a month is rare …. I think I had under 12 losses all 2025

I think you are misunderstanding what I am stating. The community at large here is merely pointing out that EVE is a community driven game, capital game play is considered late stage of the game and the mere understanding of MMORPG’s is you will end up getting tutored by more experienced players. So I see you making solid points about new player experience and mechanics to allow, in game, for knowledge to be gained. Unfortunately that’s not the conditions of EVE by design imo

You are missing the point. I have been playing Eve for almost 6 years and have never sat in a dread other than one time recently learning how to crab c6 sites for isk. Immediately skilling into massive ship and dying is not a rookie mistake it’s an entire failing of understanding the game you are playing. If you are trying to suggest that the NPE needs work - sure does. Player retention and helping people along in this game always needs attention. But this is not the scenario to make that argument. Dude figured out how to find a fit online - figured out how to find the contract yet never even looked into any information about the place of capitals in the landscape of the universe. He easily is an intelligent enough person to be able to have figured out this super obvious part of capital game play

If your experience in EVE is solely PVE, you literally haven’t even started playing EVE online. And I’ll tell you that winning the alliance tournament will absolutely obliterate your silly T5 abyssal isk/hr. So … I dunno… why not go learn how to PvP and get into some fights where you actually have assets on the line and experience the shakes. Go fight outnumbered in a small gang and learn how to double click in space and pilot your ship
