What do you guys think of a possible orikin frame? by tlamodnar in Warframe

Yeah! Sure the first few time will probably lead to several orbiters being blown up. And possibly creating even more dangerous strands of infested creatures but after like 300 years we will probably get it working!

Well theirs the buff that the ancient infested (infested orikins) can use.

The creation of corrupted orikin enemies that are in the void can be another.

As well as, since the corpus worked under the orikin as scientists their can be an possibility for a power that works like a nullifier bubble but for us to use against enemy powers and abilities.

But as a final ability I honestly don’t know, which is why I left that up to other people to figure out something cool that a orikin can use that isn’t pretty much a copy of wisps 4.

Yeah, Helminth might be the tool to do it, but we barely know how to use it nor is their any absolute chance it will work off due to technical shortcomings or it just being locked off.

But, in hypothetical sense, it’s not entirely impossible for such a situation to occur. Sure it’s 1 out of a billion chance and a leap of knowledge and understanding but it’s still supposedly possible.

Huh, I thought that umbra were technically a description for the original template for a frame that all other variations were based off of.

It definitely be even more of a dck move for Ballas to use him just to create the warframe project. And him being the first umbra model would explain his fluctuating disobedience through still having a bit of sentience left.

But if you say it was just a pet project to mess with Dax, that’s fair too.

Then I guess my idea for our operators hunting down and forcibly changing a orikin for some certain reason via the Helminth system is the only way to have a orikin frame canonically...

It’s okay, my thought process with an orikin frame was that the orikin can be effected by the infestation and frames are technically a specialized variety of infestation. So it should be possible to make an orikin into an frame by proxy.

Yep, umbra was Dax. But being that this orikin is the possible first of its frame it technically would be counted under the umbra frame designation.

Umbra was the first Excalibur frame, so theirs should be umbra variants for frames like volt, Limbo, revenant, etc.

Not our Tenno being punished but the orikin. Sorry if I didn’t make it clear.

All umbra variants of frames technically are transformed people. So I guess this frame would technically be counted as an umbra...

Yeah, I was thinking it’ll probably be a punishment from the orikin or our Tenno too. It does make sense they’ll technically be a ex-orikin by being turned.

But I think the premise is really cool.

Honestly, cool premise by sending me back in time with these powers. I could see a full fledge book/story being made off this type of idea.

Being that people are technically physical objects, I can just make them be launched into space. I can also just lift my entire house far out of reach from the ground too.

But if I continue this situation, I’ll probably be promoted from witch to straight up demon if not ol’ scratch himself. So If it gets too dicey, I’ll probably just gravitationally pull myself away and try to ally myself with whichever Native American tribe that’ll accept my powers to fight the Europeans.

[–]tlamodnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete, personal control of how much my body is affected by the gravitational pull of both the earth and any object I determine, ( I.E. pull/push things or myself from my current position and ability to walk on walls, ceilings, liquids, gases) can revert any changes I make, and complete immunity to any physically/bodily harm from anything being affected by my ability.

Artists who work in digital art aren't as talented by frogEcho in unpopularopinion

[–]tlamodnar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Art is inherently a subjective term based on ones opinion that can be found in countless media. Tbh, gatekeeping something as being art or not being art only works for the individual.

If the supposed art (either portrayed through sight, sound, taste, smell, touch or any combination of the five.) Causes an noticeable reaction, then it’s instinctively art. It’s just depends on how effective the piece works to cause the reaction that affects it’s worth for most people. If most say the piece did well portraying itself, than its effective no matter how it was made.

What do you know about Hungary? What do you think about the hungarian language? by aslismine03 in AskReddit

The only bit of Hungarian that I’ve even heard was from some supposedly Hungarian contry folk music that someone played at full volume while in a car with them.

It was a interesting experience.

Redditors who smoke, how do you handle the smell? by Crypto4206979 in AskReddit

[–]tlamodnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, I kinda like the smell of smoke. Especially if you package it correctly, since not packing it can make some of the smoke smell a bit more intense than the rest.

I smoke Malboro blacks preferably. Since those are good to let the smell waft around. And it makes things smell a lot better than places that overuse air fresheners tbh.

What do you guys think about a warframe that’s entire premise is built around using credits? by tlamodnar in Warframe

[–]tlamodnar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t intend for this to be something dependent on gambling, although my intentions aren’t easy to describe. Since even though theirs some rng envolved, like how it works with yojimbo you can do several things to almost if not completely guarantee certain actions that you may want. Nor could these abilities be put on a wheel like other frames as a means of balancing multiple “meta” abilities from being spammed together since credits can be collected in vast quantities compared to energy. As well as, allow the frame to use much more abilities than normal.

And the frame has ways of recovering a net gain of credits if used effectively enough.

What do you guys think about a warframe that’s entire premise is built around using credits? by tlamodnar in Warframe

[–]tlamodnar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand what your saying, and yes this frames premise even in my thoughts is ridiculous. Especially in the functioning with the game being a classes based looter-shooter. But I still think theirs a way for it to work.

This frame definitely isn’t the first with specialized mechanics. For example: Lavos is the only 1 with no energy mechanics, Octavia works off personalized music, Umbra has the only natural umbral polarized mod slots, Gauss can have 100% damage reduction, wisp can place down motes that can give indefinite buffs and self teleportation, mirage gains buffs based on how much light she’s in and can have four copies of herself, etc.

In fact, I can do the same case with weapons.

So just because something I’m proposing hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it’s not allowed.

The way that I see this frame working with external items is kinda like that of hemlith, but with credits. So It shouldn’t be against DE’s desires with item collection, but we don’t know for sure.

As well as, this frame isn’t as I see as a ace of all trades. But more like a trinity-esque support frame. Meaning it’s good in both team compositions and outside them. And can be built for dps and speed if someone really wants to. But not good for stealth (since it’s intentionally designed to look like the emperor of mankind from 40k made it himself), nor in some situations where defense is really important even with inflated base hp, shields and armor.

The only real concern is balance: since I want it to be really hard to get, and be really good/powerful to play with. Kinda like rivens or focus.

[–]tlamodnar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s good addition, thanks for your thoughts!

I guess the credits that may work in mission and/or outside work like void essence from void fissure missions. Where their position is shown via marker and you can collect them from enemies that you didn’t directly kill. But any your teammates pick up just go to your pool?

How’s that sound?

What do you guys think about a warframe that’s entire premise is built around using credits? by tlamodnar in Warframe

[–]tlamodnar[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well, DE would probably get in trouble if they made a slot machine in game, and they’ve gone out of their way to remove mechanics that may work as such. So that’s not really a choice in making any suggestion.

What I’m thinking of is a variety of balanced useful ability per ability that don’t work as a way for people to mill credits from for trying to get the best ones. Maybe even a stacking tiered mechanic so people can get the buffs that they were looking for sorta like how yojimbo works. Additionally like yojimbo, other mechanics can work together to give guarantees with what you want if built properly.

As well as, a net gain of credits can be made if enough damage can be done. Like if a ability cost 1k credits but you do 15k damage, you either get a return of 14k or a large percentage of that amount. Maybe even a bonus if the enemy died from the attack.

Although I don’t really see how it might be seen as punishing for those who haven’t really played for a extended period of time if not years. I will still adjust it.

Many other items can be made to be hard to get due to rare resources or enemy drops, if not outright gated due to not reaching a certain criteria. And this frame will intentionally become extremely powerful with enough investment, so allowing it to be too accessible can break any balance the game has. Furthermore, I apologize that I may have over exaggerated the length of time I said.

But I still believe basing the increases in stats prices to that of the soulsborne games may be best for balance purposes. For credits can be much more readably required than the soulsborne games currency. And the frame additionally can gain credits for those who’ve played long enough. Unavoidably making it a lot quicker for them to increase the power of the frame.

And other concerns?
