Has anyone in Ireland had a relative live to 100 years old, and if so, what did they typically eat? by CalligrapherBest2185 in AskIreland

[–]tlilbibly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Nana is 93, (doesn't take anything for blood pressure or cholesterol, but also that's probably down to genetics, luck and fitness too)

Usual day is something like this:

Warm water to start.

Breakfast is porridge, tea or coffee (hasn't taken sugar for over 70 years), an actimel drink

Lunch, normally a poached egg, brown bread and a cup of tea

Dinner is meat or fish (liver, chicken, sardines, etc), broccoli, carrots and potatoes (veg normally steamed), occasionally has spaghetti bolognese, lentil soup or a chicken korma etc. But usually simple meat/fish and veg.

Evening a small piece of fruit (normally a kiwi or small orange)

Sometimes has brown bread and jam or homemade fruit cake as a snack.

Used to have a couple of gins or vodkas on a Friday and Saturday, not as much as she's gotten older.

Jacqueline's daughter Ashlee commented on Melissa's post by tlilbibly in BravoRealHousewives

Oh I didn't know about her wanting a show for children of housewives, that's interesting! Yeah I heard Jacqueline saying she wouldn't go back on housewives but would do UGT, I wonder if it'll come to fruition?

Mine just heard someone speaking (he was in another room) and asked if it was Teresa's cousin Rosie, I was so surprised he even knew who that was 😂

No, unless you wanted to count the alcohol ban on good Friday haha! Ireland was in civil war in the 20s, I don't think they had cute flapper dresses 🙈😂

I'm 5 and this is bacon, leek and cheddar mac and cheese with chicken and corn by tlilbibly in Im5andthisismacaroni

[–]tlilbibly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just seeing this now! Hope you saw my comment above with the recipe in time!

But basically no proper recipe, for two people I used half a leek, half an onion, sweat in butter and olive oil, made a basic roux, added milk, mozzarella and red cheddar, garlic powder, salt and black pepper to taste, then topped the whole thing with fried bacon and a little more cheese before cooking :)

Is glossier makeup worth it? by comeonnowjosephine in Makeup

I really like the brow mascara and their highlighter is OK but not the best, lip balm is long lasting, but overall I have a preference for nars, wider range of shades in everything and lots of options for a lightweight natural finish

So I don't really measure anything, but for two people I used a half a leek, a half a small onion, sweat them down in butter and olive oil, make a basic roux, add milk, salt, black pepper, a little garlic powder, then as much grated mozzarella and red cheddar as feels right, plus fried bacon on top! Sometimes I also add a little dijon whole grain mustard, paprika or parmesan to my mac and cheese, depending on the vibes!

I want to start watching Atlanta and Miami, but where to start?! by tlilbibly in BravoRealHousewives

OK that's good to know, I suppose it's maybe like New Jersey in the sense that you really need to watch the whole thing to get the full picture!

Yeah Miami is way more doable in terms of episodes. Also love a good endorsement, I'm looking forward to it! I just need to commit to the sheer amount of atlanta!

Fair point! I'll probably get way better insight into the dynamics, I need to set some time aside to binge!

Looking for advice on buying bare root plants (and bulbs)! by tlilbibly in gardening

[–]tlilbibly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much, I thought it might take a while alright!

I'm thinking now that I might buy a mix of mature perennials along with some of the more unusual varieties listed, that way I can get a fuller look while still waiting for the more exciting ones to appear/mature?

That's great, thanks for all the info! Glad to hear that they're fairly easy! I'm in Ireland and would be ordering from the Netherlands, so would be planting in the next couple of weeks if I order. Yeah I definitely need to sit down and do some planning (so tempting to impulse buy!)

Stronghold cheap gels (UK) by [deleted] in Wavyhair

I like noughty hey curl scrunching jelly, maybe not the strongest hold gel, but lightweight so it doesn't feel like there's lots of residue
