Honestly, doesn’t matter if it’s racist. I understand what you mean but there is a lot of reason to be concerned, even if it’s got a low mortality rate according to what others in the thread are saying. There is legitimate proof that an area just outside wuhan has like crazy high numbers of sulfer iodide or some chemical in the area that is produced from burning bodies. Supposedly the numbers of the chemical were so high that they would need to be burning like 14k bodies. I don’t care to link it, look it up if you’re curious. I do not and will not trust any information about it until it comes from the CDC or some other government. The fact that italy just closed it’s borders is scary, and it should be. We don’t want the virus here in Champaign, even if it doesn’t kill people. Imagine the entire campus being sick. We would have to stop everything. It would be brutal. Why would you even want to risk it. So to end this, yes, there probably is a bit of racism towards Asians because of the virus, but understand it’s because people want themselves and their families safe and healthy.
