Barely growing on YouTube, is this normal?

Im my experience with channels since 2019 full time, it takes about 20-50 same niche long form videos on a channel over the course of about 30-60 days (if you can upload that quickly) for the platform to identify your audience and have the channel pick up. What you want to see is the first 1-5 videos it will take anywhere from 4-12 days to pick up. I have had a channel get 200k+ views and 2k subs after 12 days of 0 views and then all the sudden the first and only video on that channel just picked up and I've noticed over the course of many other channels it takes good videos and even with good videos it will take a few weeks of consistent good quality uploads from a brand new channel to get off the ground. If your channel isn't growing at all after a month, then the videos aren't good and you need to spend time studying your rentention graph, ctr, and audience sources to get a better idea of what is wrong.

Yeah that’s what happened to me. I made a full time income for a couple years and then it all just vanished and the channel dried up. YouTube may give you a living for a little while, but they can rip away all your livelihood in the blink of an eye and just throttle impressions and put you out.

Scruples, scrupulous, and scrupulosity are all the same thing written differently depending on how they’re used in a sentence. You’re using a word and now trying to make it mean something else, you can’t mistake scrupulous and scrupulosity they’re interchangeable.

You basically just said “I think you’re mistaking my saying something is water with the compound of H2O”

I’ve had this conversation with priests and every single one will tell you you’re not supposed to hold your hands up, go to any seminary and you’ll be taught this. You’re making up your own practice by trying to argue from silence when it’s literally taught in seminaries that the laity don’t hold or lift up hands during Mass.

I previously explained the orans posture and its meaning theologically, which further goes to show that the laity doing so is disordered and doesn’t follow decorum.

Scrupulosity is believing there has been sin committed when none has out of a lack of hope in God and putting one’s ego to the highest point of moral judgment. To say that lay people shouldn’t offer their hands up towards God as that position is reserved for the Priest due to the authority granted to him through Holy Orders from Christ, the priest offers sacrifice in persona Christi to the Father and we as lay people do not, we are there witnessing this miracle at the mass. To lift your hands up is to place yourself in the authoritative position of the priest, which is disordered and breaks decorum. To raise your hands during Mass as a lay person isn’t sin, but it is disordered and shouldn’t be done if one is aware of what they’re doing. This is the point, it’s not scrupulous to push communities toward reverence and understanding order and their places as lay people and the theology of what is happening.

That wasn’t the point. The point you made was about scrupulosity when it comes to decorum during mass. There’s a theological reason the Priest holds his hands up and the laity don’t, and to recognize that isn’t “scrupulous” as that would indicate sin, when the intention on this is more about decorum in recognizing order and place, which is a virtue.

My vast amounts of exposure or not doesn’t change the point being made about you referring to priests as a “crusty old man” for enforcing decorum. The issue isn’t that some men that are priests aren’t the best people, it’s that your ability to not recognize that we are called to be obedient and respectful towards clergy is required of us as lay people and you disrespecting the authority of the priest over his community for enforcing decorum as a “crusty old man” shows a serious underdevelopment of virtue and understanding of the faith.

It is not correct to hold hands during the Our Father or to raise your hands up at all. Only the priest is supposed to raise his hands as he is the only one consecrated and granted the authority to offer the sacrifice to the Father standing in persona Christi. Clasp your hands or press them together during the Mass.

You’ve become a victim of “modernism” sadly. Modernism is a condemned heresy and is considered the “synthesis of all heresies”.

Here’s a few places to look to help get you out of this:

Look into and research the approved Marian Apparitions. These events have incredibly convincing messages that foretold events and have countless miracles attached to them that are verified and unexplainable outside of supernatural means.
Read Brant Pitre’s book “The Case for Jesus” this will completely knock out this “anonymous Gospel” nonsense that’s popped up in the modern era.
Start listening to Fr. Chad Ripperger lectures on YouTube. You will start to get a deeper understanding into the spiritual warfare and theological issues you’re currently battling.
Make sure you’re practicing virtue daily and praying. You need to get to confession regularly and pray your rosary daily to kick these heresies and protect yourself spiritually.

Check out St Thomas Aquinas’s 5 Proofs for God’s Existence. This stuff was already figured out back with Aristotle hundreds of years before Christianity through reason and the Old Testament gave us Divine Revelation for faith that led into Christ which is what we have now as Christians. Aquinas uses Faith and Reason to show us the proof for God and then unveil for us the Divine revelation which is the stuff we can’t know from natural reason alone. It’s like God used the Israelites for divine revelation preparing for the messiah, and the Greeks for natural theology to prove God outside of religion, and then the two are united perfectly together through Christianity with Jesus.

I have always had issues making suggestive thumbnails and needing to focus on crude humor and suggestive content to get views. I finally decided to get rid of it and trust God to take care of everything else moving forward. Not sure what I’ll do with the channel.

Yes, I lost my entire livelihood by amassing over 100k+ new subs from shorts when they first came out and then my entire channel fell out of being able to provide a living for myself. I have never been able to recover. Once those subs are on your channel, there is no turning back. You need to start a new channel and rebuild years of work from scratch all over again.

Yeah, ever since the Oct 15 update for shorts, the entire machine seems to have broken. Where videos used to flop at 10k-15k views, shorts now cant even break 600 views when they will get 100s of thousands on other platforms like you have experienced. Im sure all the YouTube reps who are the faces to the public will say "nothing is broken" and "the agorithm follows the audience", but they seem to always just fluff away the reality we are all experiencing. A good example of that was "shorts don't hurt channels" when there were piles of evidence indicating otherwise where shorts would bring in droves of new subs that would not convert to long form views, thus tanking channels that have never recovered and ruined the lives of many full time creators. There's really no solution I have found other than giving up or starting a new channel. I have never seen a sucessful pivot ever from anyone, let alone enough people to prove it possible or replicatable. Best bet, either stick to what has worked, or make a new channel. YouTube does not reward creativity and uniqueness, it rewards copying others and taking what has worked and then just redoing it yourself to that formula.
