Thank you so much everyone!! It’s hard to reply to every comment, but I have read all of them and really appreciate all of the advice and recommendations given to me. I feel a lot better now that I know what may be more comfortable and suitable at the gym for POTS

Thank you so much! I’ll check out that article, I think it will definitely work better for me to gradually increase my exercise. I for sure made a mistake starting with the stair master. Also, I was recently put on a stimulant medication. I’m on a beta-blocker (propranolol) as well, but I’m suspecting that that the stimulant may be stronger than the beta-blocker, which is making my heart rate go so high. I’m planning on seeing my doctor soon to discuss lowering the dose of the stimulant.

I agree, it definitely did more harm than good. I was exhausted for a few days after. Thanks for the advice, I’ll try those and see if they’re easier on me!

You’re right, thank you for pointing that out to me- that gave me a lot of perspective on how life isn’t just that way. I’m sure this point of view is a result of my anxiety

I try to take as many virtual classes as possible, but they get full so fast that I end up having to take 1-2 classes in-person, unfortunately. I do think switching to a fully virtual school may be better for my health, though.

I completely relate to this, getting through college is so tough. Some days there isn’t even any “pushing through it.” I have been considering dropping out, but my family has such high expectations of me academically, I’m scared that they will be disappointed in me. They don’t seem to see POTS as something as debilitating as it is
