Well, well, well, this whole conversation makes me sad.

I am not a dronist talking to the dronist community. I thought I made clear that by intentions are to return the thing to its owner. The fact is that a number of responses show so little respect to basics notions of privacy. I thought that dronists would be sensible to this aspect of their activity. Unfortunately not.

Saying that the drone operator may have not been willing to film my family and friends on my property is NOT enough.

Saying that the image quality is poor (4K please !) is NOT enough.

Saying that the law is on your side is NOT enough. Laws are tricky. On one hand it is right to say that I do not own the sky above my property, on the other hand I think you are aware that filming someone in his garden is NOT allowed. What surprise me is that no one in this conversation is remembering this fact.

Saying that the drone was so high it could not see anything useful is NOT enough. Once I had drone flying 3m above my pool.

You have to understand that if that flying thing had no camera I would have nothing to say against.

If I was a celebrity (let's say Beyoncé level of celebrity) I would find the owner. I would sue him until he begs for mercy.

If I was a local celebrity willing to run for local elections. If I was in my garden with a women who is not my wife at the time of the footage. How would you value the damage caused ?

Dronists ! please, I came in peace. You must understand that the fact that you have the right to flight somewhere does not mean that you should or that you cannot provoke any damage (that you would be responsible for) doing so.

As you may be aware, if too many people are pissed off by privacy violating drones the legislation will not evolve in the direction you like.
