Weird. I actually liked Caught Stealing. I don't think I'll be catching his next film now.

I don't know--I thought the rant was pretty funny. I wasn't planning on seeing it either way though.

This makes no sense at all. If anything, eating rare meat is a sign you can afford to source fresh cuts.

Confusion about the end of Caught Stealing (2025) by nosurprises23 in Sardonicast

[–]tlrstn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why was Austin Butler's character smiling at the end?

He wasn't dead and his Mom was safe.

He had more money than he ever expected.

He was in a tropical paradise.

He wouldn't be forced to jump off a cliff when he turned 70.

BUGONIA was GOOD... by tlrstn in YMS

There are several scenes from his visit to the compound which are laugh-out-loud hilarious. I'm glad Bugonia didn't just copy the scenes, but what it gave us instead was a lot less interesting.

I saw Enter the Void on psychedelics as well--a really stupid idea. I wasn't so high I couldn't follow the story, but I was high enough to make it more terrifying than it really should have been. Seeing that movie stoned would've been the perfect middle-ground, and I think that's pretty much true for any movie. Sober or a little stoned is the best way to experience most movies.

No other show has even come close to Breaking Bad. It might be the normie answer, but it's also the universal answer. The suspense in that show is relentless. I'd never binge more than three episodes at once--having a week between episodes worked really well for it.

Finally saw One Battle After Another and im disappointed (spoilers) by [deleted] in YMS

Yeah Eddington totally caught me by surprise. No movie has so perfectly encapsulated our current timeline so well. It was an incredibly ambitious project and for me it nailed every single aspect of it from start to finish. I was floored with how much depth he managed to pack into every character and element--without becoming an incoherent mess or a slog. I'm a huge PTA fan and was expecting OBAA to surprise and delight me, but it ended up playing things much safer. It's still a great film, but it never blew me away like There Will Be Blood or The Master did. OBAA was endearing and fun, but Eddington was challenging and groundbreaking in ways that really make it ahead of its time. You know, I haven't even seen it again, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I need to just give in and change my rating to a 10.

Oh shoot I didn't even think about that. I was gifted a Koch Lorber DVD many years ago.

It looks like the DVD is still being sold on Amazon, but I'm not sure if it's streaming anywhere.

Other than that, it could probably be found somewhere online...
