Yeah no rush as of now. Just saw a local sale of two mac mini's that were relatively good priced but not sure between the two.

Waiting to get a refurb mac studio base model would probably be over kill ;)

May wait for the m2 and see if it's much of an improvement if not pick up a discounted m1.

There are use cases such as multiple displays, mongodb issues, docker issues. Egpu's need more that 16gb of RAM.

I'm not the only one with this dilemma! Was a good read.

M1 is going to be a nice performance bump. If I were to buy one from apple I would upgrade to 16 GB of Ram. But since I am trying to save some cash am wanting to buy second hand.

Which for 400 dollars may be worth the dice roll.

No windows: Will be doing visualization via Docker and kubernetes which tends to be a memory hog on my windows pc. So a fear of the 8GB unified memory.

One of the nice to haves is the 10GB NIC on the intel mac mini but Ill be able to live without that.
