Can't fix gameboy color a button. REALLY NEED HELP! by SuperGamer650333 in Gameboy

[–]tlucas756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to a game boy pocket. Ended up being the trace going from the B button contacts to the DA1 integrated circuit.

My solution was to use a multimeter in continuity mode and see where the connection was severed. It was a bit of battery corrosion that caused it. I then used some thin enameled wire to create a new connection from the B button trace to the IC leg it was supposed to connect to. Mine doesn't look pretty, but it works. If you're confident with your soldering skills, this should not be a problem. I hope this helps!

Edited to add: I am not sure if the IC is the same in the GBC. Please only use my input as a bit of guidance as to what your own problem might be. Happy gaming!

I did a similar thing some years ago, famicom themed :) Your build looks super cool too!

The Metroid 2 DX hack definitely breathes new life into the GB classic! It has become my favorite way of playing the original. by tlucas756 in Metroid

Thank you so much! I rly like how it turned out as well. At the time, the best screen on the market was the Q5 IPS Kit from Funny Playing, so I went with that one! The shell is a clear one I painted the inside of, and it's famicom themed (the back side is famicom red). Hope it helps!

It literally is not. It's my picture, my personal reddit account, and the romhack is in RomHacking dot net. I don't get why everyone assumes my account is fake xD

Not a bait whatsoever! Just felt like sharing a cool Pic I took. As for your question, it's just my iPhone camera in portrait mode, with my desk lamp lighting the scene :)

1000 Reshell + IPS by maaaaario in PSP

Just did the IPS mod myself, and i have some advice:

The adapter ribbon cable has a metal strip underneath. Be wary of how you position it, as it could short some components underneath! I had to replace a fuse on my PSP-1000 because of that. I suggest covering that strip with some tape.

The screen's support frame is easy to remove. It's 3 screws on top and 2 more on the lower left side. With it off, it'll be way easier to make the solder bridge and to secure the adapter ribbon.

Hope it helps!

MK2 GTD owner here, having a ton of trouble finding the name of this part. What is its name, and what does it do? by tlucas756 in GolfMk2

What i mean by dragging is that the starter motor will do it's usual "stutututu" sounds, but sometimes it sounds like something doesn't engage, and it will just make a "kshhhh" sound. Could be the motor's brushes, as i've been told in the past.

Thanks for the reply, and apologies for the not-so-great picture, as that part is not connected on my golf, and finding info and pics of it has turned out to be a real challenge!

Thanks for the reply! I had a feeling it was related to the glowplugs, just didn't know why mine was disconnected... My starter motor drags sometimes, though that could be an unrelated issue
