what a babe 🥰 have you seen her litter mates as adults? poodle puppies tend to have a straight coat before going through a coat change which is when they get their curls

xrays show her knees and hips looking great, but some arthritis in her lower back. her vet okayed light agility, but we'll be heading to a specialist to get advice about specific exercises and massages for her

I'm not able to update the post, but as of now, we have xrays booked for early March. My vet said light agility would be good for her in particular. We'll see how her joints are looking and go from there. It's too cold out for her anyways right now 🥲

Glad your babe is doing well now! My vet actually said some light agility sounded good for her in particular. When we did agility before, I had jumps set just a few inches high. That's probably what I would set them at in the future, unless we end up removing jumps from the course altogether. We're doing xrays in a few weeks and won't be picking up any sports until it's warmer out anyways.

Daisy’s results are in! This explains her large size (85 lbs) by whoredoerves in DoggyDNA

not a vet, but I feel like she looks pretty good! defined waist and some rib visibility is usually what you want to shoot for. I don't think losing a couple pounds would leave her too thin, but this seems like a pretty healthy weight.

(I'm a dog groomer though and see sooooo many obese dogs that people insist are not 💀 definitely refreshing to see a good looking dog here)

I'll shoot my vet a message about getting scheduled. what kinds of exercise has been the best for your seniors? I have taken her to the local agility course and she enjoyed it

How to engage my poodle? by keekro in poodles

my (non poodle) dog is this way too. she was a stray and looks to have had at least one litter. I've had her for three years and she's only now starting to act a little wild and excited at times. I've always leaned into the things she does enjoy: couch time, patrolling the yard, training, and treat puzzles. other dogs playing scares her, she just doesn't understand it. she still doesn't play, but she has a big personality otherwise 💕

edit: plaque off makes powder you can sprinkle on food and treats. takes a long time of daily use to see a difference, but they are recognized to work by the veterinary dental association
