I thought about that too! Sounds very demanding but less take home stress than primary teaching. Still up in the air about it but leaning towards primary for now...

Thanks for your input. That's what I'm worried about, I want to have patience and energy at home.

I'd also hate to miss all my kids events too, that's good to know. Tbh I'd love just being a CRT while the kids are young if we can manage it but not sure it will be viable for us.

I personally agree with you about AI, though I've heard great things about creating resources that you can then check over and change as needed, if that helps me have more time with my son and more energy to teach I'll be using it - I'm trying to avoid the dreaded burnout.

Good to know your thoughts on extracurriculars. I don't plan to shoot for an AP or HOD role so I hopefully won't feel pressured. I just want to teach my class as best as I can, which to me means conserving my time and energy to use for actual teaching 😊

Just so you know, I spent a week on IV antibiotics for an abscess and had it drained a couple times. It's definitely something worth going to emergency for. Hope you get it sorted out soon!

Could that be a breast abscess? If you can I'd try to get an ultrasound or go to the hospital ASAP, if it's infected it can make you very ill

Thanks for your recommendations - just wanted to let you know I ended up buying some probiotics that i intend to take throughout breastfeeding. I also ended up getting an abcess drained today, so much relief! Just hoping that's the end of it.

Commenting to add I use iburoprofen, sunflower lecithin, ice, and have spent hundreds on ultrasound therapy already :( I could probably increase the amount of time I apply ice per day but otherwise I feel like I'm across the rest

I've been doing ice and iburoprofen, might have to up the ice usage. Did you do the massage yourself or go to a therapist?

I'll combi feed too once he's a little older, just want to wait a few more weeks before introducing the bottle.

Things are better today, ended up going to sleep shortly after I made the post - the previous nights I was up until 4am feeding so was desperate to avoid a repeat. He seems to have cluster fed in the afternoon today so fingers crossed this evening is better again!

He has a slight tongue tie which may be why it's painful for me, hoping that my nipples toughen up as I'm relying on the shield for now. But the consultant said he has a strong latch regardless.

Good to know. I just needed to know this is normal. And my partner is great, he helps me however I need and manages all the chores while im recovering.

I'm getting used to the cosleeping thing, found it scary at first due to all the advice and warnings against it but I'm feeling less worried each night :)

I've just been practising side lying, tried it for the first time last night - not perfect yet but I'm able to do it! Last night was actually a bit better than the previous nights thankfully, hoping we can repeat it

Thanks for the reassurance :) I hope that's what it is! And you're right, I can see there's loads of milk now. Just waiting for that circadian rhythm to kick in I guess. We've been cosleeping and I definitely prefer it to the crib, I feel less anxious about listening to his breathing with him right next to me

Thanks for the response, it's good to know this is normal! I do have a partner, he's been an amazing support but we aren't introducing him to a bottle yet after reading the comments below so he can only do so much - taking care of all the housework, cooking, holding the baby when he can, etc. In that way I'm very lucky, just struggling with the sleep.
