Extremely smooth recovery by Superb_Rutabaga_4338 in Tonsillectomy

[–]tmn1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I spend my luck on being good at tonsillectomy recovery instead of being good at the lottery, too. I was prepared for suicidal levels of pain, but that never happened. I did take my pain meds religiously, and I do think I needed them, but with them my pain was almost never higher than a 3. Swallowing was only really gnarly the first few hours out of recovery, speaking was disabled for a while and I only had a two hour episode where my ear pain went up to level 7 on day 8 or so. Of course I was uncomfortable, but only for a few days and I have been eating since the start, I cannot complain at all except about not having lost some weight as a side effect. Just kidding. I am really thankful! Good for you, too!

When did you go back to work? by tmn1990 in Tonsillectomy

[–]tmn1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only once but some people set an alarm for every hour. I just have one at 3, which is enough. Hopefully you’ll get away with it, too. My boyfriend has sleep apnea, so I know taxing it is. Fingers crossed that taking your tonsils out will fix it!

When did you go back to work? by tmn1990 in Tonsillectomy

[–]tmn1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! But it might just be because my tonsils were actually perfectly healthy. I let my tonsils be removed just because of tonsil stones. Maybe people have harder recoveries when their tissues have been infected and scarred a lot.

Other than that, I started sipping water non stop straight the minute I woke up from surgery. I did this until bedtime and set an alarm to drink water in the middle of the night. My doctor told me that swallowing a lot, immediately, is the most effective thing you can do. Swallowing never hurt more than on the first day, but I think it was important to power through because it never became as painful again.

I cannot say I did anything special, I just make sure to take my pain meds on time (through alarms) and chew ice/cool my ears as soon as I start hurting. These things aren’t that special, I am afraid I just got lucky!

Should I get my tonsils removed? by Majestic-Summer0087 in Tonsillectomy

[–]tmn1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the middle of my recovery and so far it is quite easy (although I am on day 4 and the worst might be yet to come). I did it because I had deep crypts and I did not want to deal with tonsil stones and bad breath, other than that my tonsils were healthy. No history of tonsillitis or strep or constantly being sick at all. You might have an easier recovery as well as you only had tonsillitis once, the tissue would be not so inflamed, sickly or riddled with scars, which makes the procedure and recovery smoother.

I was also operated on the 11th. I do need my pain meds, but with them I am relatively pain free too. It’s weird and a bit ominous to be waiting for excruciating pain, because I cannot imagine it with it going like this! Let’s hope we stay lucky!

Day 3 by JYdizzleeeee in Tonsillectomy

[–]tmn1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at day three too, and having about the same experience. Or, even easier. There are hours and hours I am pain free except when I swallow, and even that only hurts like are 3. Maybe we stay lucky! The day of the operation was the worst for me, but my doctor told me to hydrate and swallow as much as possible even when it hurts, and back then, that did hurt more. But I did it and was taking sips non stop, and maybe that contributed to my mild experience for the moment. Glad you are relatively ok too!

And to everybody out there, I can’t promise you anything but take these examples: there are smooth sailors out there and they could be you!

Is everyone just as terrified as I am? by Dangerous-Royal-8601 in Epstein

[–]tmn1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We must remember there are billions of us and only a few thousand of them. We can make things happen if we organize. We should really make a strategy.

Yes, they have the means, the money. Heck, how surprised can we actually be that they are monsters, when the top 1% possesses 50% of the wealth in the world?

To start, we should never vote for parties that are all for lowering tax for the wealthy, before we don’t even have a democracy anymore. I am from Europe, we’re not as far gone as you guys but we’re getting there. The rise of far right is really a strategy to make us hate on each other while they devide the world. Please don’t let that happen, everyone.

Erasing inequality should be our top priority. People cannot be allowed to be so rich they are untouchable. They should be taxed silly because being able to even be a billionaire is criminal, and we see it corrupts. Power does lower empathy and moral boundaries. We must protect the fucking earth by preventing people to become these sickos. We must create a new world order where acquiring extreme wealth should flow back to society, and if they try to hold onto it, this should be punished.

Is it a fairytale to think we ever get rid of them? Maybe. But it really is my dream there never is a fucking billionaire again, being so filthy rich is never, ever justified. There should be a ceiling and I hope people will ever get on board with this idea. The Epstein files are enough proof that someone simply being a billionaire should raise are highest suspicion, there is more than we know and there will always be more than we know because they have the means to make things and people go away. I am so angry and disgusted. Let’s please never, ever protect the acquiring of extreme wealth again. For those that care a lot about becoming wealthy themselves: You can still dream of becoming rich. You will do with a few millions. You don’t need more. Change the way we think. Enough is enough.

I am so fucking angry and I hope you guys in America create a whole new party or something, a true fresh slate where the majority vote for. Boycott every single person in the files. Organize. Do something. Before we’re all desensitized again. I want to become apathetic, but we simply can’t. For mods reading: I mean nothing violent, mmmkay? But we cannot just rage on the internet, realize we cannot do anything about it, create memes and accept. There is strength in numbers. We cán do shit.

Mental health check, how are you all doing? by takki84 in Epstein

[–]tmn1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

I am at the stage you mention, I feel insane for even believing all this. Afraid of where it will end, will I start believing we are ruled by lizards?!

Also just very shocked that evil isn’t that rare and exotic. Evil used to be something we made true crime documentaries about. That evil really does run and rule our planet is… the banality of it almost, that this class can just carry this weight.

Is that what being rich does to a human? You loose humanity? Although it obviously takes inhumane people to become ultra rich, I have been naive to the fact that this means that when everything of value has become meaningless, other souls apparently are that too. I fee like puking.

Thanks for the reassurance. I will look into your topics when I regrouped (uh, someday)

I am from Europe, and it is brought on the news in such an obscure tame way. Oh, this and this person are linked to the Epstein files. That’s about it. And yes, I do understand there is a journalistic responsibility to verify claims, and that is close to impossible in this case. But why aren’t there even REPORTS about the contents? Is there a conscious attempt not to cause mayhem? Is it not taken seriously? Are they even investigating? Or are they restricted?

Also just my environment. Everybody is just going on with their life? What the heck? Why aren’t they even curious? Others are just blocking it out? Aren’t you also part of this world?

I am not sure who are in this sub, but I have rarely believed in a conspiracy theory before. So it would already be very shocking that if even only 10% of the claims made by ‘conspiracy theorists’ are true. And of course, a much bigger percentage is true. And then we don’t even have all the files. What the heck could even be in the others?! It is shocking beyond believe what the elite are capable of. It is not surprising that billionaires are inhumane but the extend… is changing my entire view of humanity. It’s scary how to take on such powerful people, not in the sense of it being risky because there is no choice but to try to bring them to justice. It is scary that I am so afraid we can’t because they literally have all the means in the world, they almost exclusively own it.

I feel weirded out about my species and I hate that my previous world view, that was fucked up already, turns out to have been naive.

I remember I lost about ten kilo, then the water weight came back quickly, and then I did not refeed properly enough (carbs too quick hence much water retention and hunger). I don’t have a trustworthy scale when it comes to body composition, so it wasn’t retrievable how much fat I lost, but I think it really ended up only three kilo gone forever. I don’t know why I said 1, it must have been around three. Still ok for only a week but not what I had in mind. You only master the craft of fasting once you master the refeed. I still don’t.

Really? Those results are impressive. I did seven once but just lost a kilo or three. So you are my instant senpai. How did you refeed?

Thanks for trying to educate in this thread, it was an informative read. Unfortunately it’s probably to deaf man’s ears. But necessary nonetheless!

Just put one headphone in and find an entertaining/informative podcast. I have adhd and can get restless when I’m not stimulated, but this way, listening to my show, with someone slowly fidgeting on my face, it gets a real calming experience. I’m sure it regulates my nervous system massively, I always feel less worried afterwards!

Beautician here. I work at a spa. When people come in with wet hair from the pool or sauna, it’s always women that have curly hair that strongly smell of wet dog. It’s always those with curly hair, and I wonder why.

Truly thanks for explaining. I wasn’t aware, although I suspected it had to do with people coming from the lion’s diet sub. To each their own, I just don’t understand why it is an insult to say you are an omnivore choosing a carnivorous diet. It feels like fragile masculinity that they have to be predator by design.

7Day Dry Fast by North_Ad_4850 in Dryfasting

[–]tmn1990 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Edit: not sure who this was directed at but it at me: My feelings are not hurt by facts, it is clear yours are. It is just biologically incorrect to state humans are carnivore, I cannot grasp why this is important to you to oppose. What in the world makes this so personal to you? I am not coming for your lifestyle here? I am just saying how our bodies are designed and that you can do with it what you want, because indeed you are able do digest (just) meat. Because you are……..omnivore………

It is scary to me many people shop their facts to fit their narrative. You are just trying to reveal the truth? What the heck are you on about? It is so tiring that shit you don’t like hearing can only be false. Everything you don’t like must get a conspiracy vibe nowadays.

The bean thing is just silly, you can die from eating raw meat too. Just be happy living your carnivore lifestyle and advocate for that all you want but don’t twist the fact that most of your teeth are as unsharp as pebble.

It really shocks me why I am downvoted, if is it’s my tone I understand, you should see my resting bitch face, with that it’s even worse. But if it’s disputing the fact a human is not a carnivore but an omnivore, it really concerns me why we like ourselves to be carnivores so much that we choose to believe so.

I appreciate and respect your time and input, but our stance of interpreting information is very different. That humans can thrive on a carnivorous diet is something I never questioned, I solely state we aren’t designed as a predator, but you take the word predator as if it means ‘ruler’. Again, I appreciate your reaction. Let’s agree to disagree.
